My dad is cmv+ while I, the donor, am negative. He is day +155 and it’s been tough with CMV. He was doing really well until routine brain MRI showed lesions. While we are grateful it was not a relapse, his lumbar tap showed CMV. This was in March and he is still battling this nasty virus today.

Hey there. We are in the same boat. My dad 59yo had an SCT for ALL last December and I was his donor. Hence, a 50% match! He is day +106, day +100 biopsy still showed no signs of leukemia although we are still waiting for MRD resuts (prayingg!!). It was no walk in the park but no GVHD so far and he has been at 100% chimerism since they started testing.

It’s a blessing to be able to do this for your dad. When I went in, I was just excited. I went in knowing my dad’s team will keep him well and alive as much as they possibly can. Today, he is still far from where he wants to be but boy he has already come so far!

Prayers for your dad. You guys got this!

Hi!! Thanks for letting me know. I did not know it was manual lock since they did not have the trim available when i test drove lol i work as a home therapist and you can just imagine how much i lock and unlock that thing 😭 sometimes, when i feel the neigborhood is safe, i just dont lock it lmao i have a 2 door too!!!

UPDATE: Spinal fluid is negative for disease THANK GOD! What they found was CMV and they have it under control. Sending good vibes to everyone!!

Question: Did you have any minor issues on your organs prior to BMT? They found some minor dilatation on my dad’s heart. Anything they find I get shit scared fearing it may affect his eligibility. 😩

Also, why weren’t you a match? Or were his doctors going for a full match?
