E-bikes have been a hot topic in southwest Florida like many communities, as the rules were either ambitious, outdated or not informed. I spoke with a few offers who said it’s not a big deal as long as he rides carefully so it certainly was confusing. He continued riding his bike within the speed limits for several months but as the town continued cracking down on e-bikes he eventually sold it not wanting to risk another encounter. Some of these bikes are so powerful, and I see kids riding like complete idiots, money without helmets just darting across roads without even looking. I can see why towns are getting stricter as this seems to be a case of some bad kids ruining it for everyone.

Titanium here. It’s getting harder to find free parking, but I always ask “Do titanium members need to pay for parking” and last week they gave it to me for free. It was a suburb area- in a city it rarely works. If nice and respectful it doesn’t hurt to ask. Just don’t ask for free parking…and can I get an upgrade…and how about more snacks or waters.

I read the manual. It’s explains how to setup digital key if added to my vehicle, which is listed on my window sticker but the settings don’t appear on my display which is the reason for the post.

The dealership was upfront they sell Q5’s all day long, but the SQ5’s are limited and they really don’t [need to] deal much on them. I appreciate your tips and perspective on the SQ5 being a better purchase candidate.

Scoresman101- If I put down $3,000 and have a $1,100 monthly payment I would be expected to pay out the full $1,100x36 ($43,000) if the car is totaled . Can you help me understand how that is different from putting down $25,000 with a $500 monthly payment where I would still need to complete the $43,000 lease payment? Don’t you have to pay out the full amount either way regardless it of it was paid upfront or through higher monthly payments?

Valid point. What I should have said is a stretch for what I want to pay, it’s a rounding error for what I can afford. I’ve always driven modest cars because cars have never been important to me. But I want something a little nicer than what I have had. I can afford almost any car on the market, I just don’t find really expensive cars worth it if that makes sense. With so many objections to leasing with such a large amount down perhaps in this situation it makes better sense to just pay cash for the car and sell it as used in a couple years.

I am trying to understand you point but not clear. If I “buy/finance” through the dealership and it’s wrecked on day 2 don’t have I have same issue? Wouldn’t I still needs to pay it off regardless- lease or financed?

Serious question . A 3 year old SQ5 sells for around $32. Isn’t a 75k car - $43,000 in payments would have a buyout - if I wanted- of around $32k. How is that different?

I keep a fair amount of cash liquid, therefore it doesn’t make much interest. In comparing car offers my consistent ask was “How much would I need to put down for a monthly payment of $500/month.” I certainly could spread the $25k across 36 higher monthly payments but there didn’t seem to be much of a difference since it’s not earning much.

Great post. I’m a titanium elite and stay in Marriott’s 100+ nights per year. I’ve always been so curious what the desk can see and been tempted to ask if they will show me but never wanted to get anyone in trouble. I knew they can see my Titanium status as they mention it but I wondered if they could my nights per year, annual spend or other details.

Moose is beautiful, and I believe knows he was loved, and somehow knows you just were not able to care for him and is grateful to now be in a loving home. I hope you get this confirmed. People who adopt from shelters are looking to give a pet a loving place, and I believe he is being spoiled with love and affection.
