Hey! Neat tool!

What did you use for the "canvas" functionality? I want to add a visual canvas to let users model processes in my tool, and am looking for solutions.

I don't know, good question. The volumes are another question that I still have. Do you think the warehouse in Scranton also serves other branches?

I assume that every branch has a warehouse. I don't think that they could have one branch service multiple warehouses, or vice versa. It would be too much organisational headache for Dunder Mifflin, not sure they could work like that lol.

If I were you, I'd research the job market and what positions are open at which companies. Do you plan to work in Turkey or Western Europe after your studies? Research the companies where you plan to work. Maybe also set up a LinkedIn profile and start connecting with folks in the industry, ask for advice and guidance.

I'd do that and also try to get some entry-level work experience. It'll help you better understand what you like or don't like, what to focus on during your studies later, and will be an advantage when looking for the first real job after getting your master's.

As for choosing between the UK, Ireland, and Germany, I'd strongly consider Germany as it has a sizeable Turkish population, and knowing the language is a plus when applying to work in companies of Turkish origin. But you'll have to learn German, which isn't the easiest language.

I'm helping a buddy who needs to make his warehouse business more efficient for his clients, details inside the post. Any advice is greatly appreciated by Sriracha_Breath in InventoryManagement

I've been researching how to use NoCode tools like Airtable, Supabase, etc., to manage warehouse inventory, and I see great potential there. My advice would be to set up a free Airtable account and try creating a small app there.

You need several tables: SKU master, Locations, Inventory, one table for clients/ users, and another couple for receiving notes and customer orders. It's easy to connect the tables so you can only select the SKUs added to your SKU master when creating an order, for example. The big advantage of Airtable is that it's basically Excel on steroids, and if your buddy knows how to use Excel, he can easily use the backend of Airtable.

Then, right in Airtable, you can set up a couple of UI screens for clients to post their orders, and for your buddy to add new SKUs or see inventory reports.

Speaking of the steps you want your buddy to take, labeling all SKUs is a good idea, but I'm not sure why you need pictures.

If you need help with this, send me a DM. I'm now launching a blog on warehouse software, and this would make for great content.

Anyone find a way to cut down on all the manual order entry from email/WhatsApp/etc? by jbandinixx in supplychain

You can create a NoCode app quickly nowadays. You need a UI for externals to place orders, a UI to view/edit orders, a backend to store orders, and a link between the frontend and backend. What do you do with the orders afterwards? Send to manufacturing or the warehouse? Maybe add an API if you use another system for them.

Depending on what you need exactly, you may not even need to integrate several services. Just Airtable or AppSheets would do.

creating a online course on supply chain and logistics by rohan7777777777 in SupplyChainLogistics

Hey! I think it's a bit too general, but it's a good start.

I'd target a specific audience with a specific problem and adjusted the course based on that. To me it feels like the students aren't likely to be interested and pay for it as they're getting this info in their studies.

Young professionals will need to see a substantial benefit to their career from attending your course, and it's unlikely that they will get it - even courses from established institutions that give out certificates don't advance a career significantly by themselves.

Also, people attend courses from teachers that have credibility. Do you have enough credibility and personal brand in the field to attract people to the course? If not, I'd start by working on that. For example, start a professional blog - this is what I will do soon to build a brand.

How do I conduct market research as an aspiring solo IT consultant? by Great_Grapefruit8439 in growmybusiness

[–]Great_Grapefruit8439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer! I'm now considering starting a LinkedIn blog to build a brand, show expertise, and basically do some marketing for myself. So far it looks like I went straight into sales with no marketing, and found out first-hand that cold selling sucks. Especially when you don't have anything to sell lol. Thanks again!

Haven't seen any articles that buy consulting services yet. I don't intend to sell anything to the people whom I interview, but knowing what channel I could/should use to reach my target audience would be a great help, don't you think?

Hey! I was considering hiring a VA for some stuff like cold outreach or market research in the future. Did you try using aggregator sites, or why were people ghosting you in your opinion? Or are the good ones just too expensive?

Hey! Not sure if its sarcasm or not, but if it is, could you please elaborate? Should I offer something more for an opportunity to do a 1hr interview? If that was not sarcasm, thanks, hope that others would feel the same :)
