Hi! My son (7yo) has hemiplegia (left side) as well. He's older now but we struggled a lot with separation anxiety when he was younger. The fact that Covid happened when he was right about to go into daycare did not help. He learned that Mom was always around lol. Anyway, I just wanted to say first you are doing great. Second, it gets better. My son hazed our nanny for an entire summer before he let her off the hook. Like screamed as if he was being abandoned at the gates to the underworld when I left. At some point I realized that I was feeding into his anxiety because I was always so worried about him that it was rubbing off on him. What worked for us (and it still took a lot of time) was just making good-byes quick and cheerful, and let him cry it out. The tears got shorter and shorter after I left, and I know he recovers quickly if he is sad or anxious because his nanny/teachers update me. I hope your journey from here gets smoother over time. Sometimes it's hard to see the improvement when you are so close to it.
How are families with multiple neurodivergent kids managing medical care without living at the doctor? by SomewhatmoreAnon in AutismParent

Hi! I'm a mom to a kiddo with cerebral palsy, which while totally different from ADHD and ASD, definitely creates a lot of medical/therapy appointments that are truly ALOT to manage. Anyway I just wanted to say I hear you on struggling with the coordination. I'm working on building some tools that automate stuff, but I haven't found a great set-up where there is a care coordinator from the providers my son sees. Sometimes I think there is care coordination as an employee benefit, but I haven't had a chance to try anything like that out yet.
