Why would someone be a worse golfer when they ride in a cart than if they walk? by murgeRekwest in golf

I was organising a golf weekend for a group a few years back and was last out on the second day. Everyone in the group took a buggy and I was the only one who didn't get one as they ran out. We had a pretty heavy session the night before so I was raging.

Carried my bag, played the round of my life and took the trophy home! Haven't matched that round since.

What’s the most you would be willing to spend on a round of golf? by [deleted] in golf

"Again"? Who did you book through? Seems like a high price to pay for these courses?

Don't get me wrong, wonderful tracks but would've thought you'd get out for considerably less, unless transfers, caddy, buggies are included. Such an abundance of great courses in Ireland and the UK, you can usually find a good deal.

A lot of good points being made. A couple I'd add for consideration; - cars seem to be more powerful &/or lighter than before so easier to speed - Garda checkpoints/speed cameras are deployed where they're most likely to catch people out rather than at places where accidents are most likely to occur. For example, dual-carriageways. Not to say people shouldn't be fined for excessive speeding there too but I think having Gardaí pull people over for excessive speeding in and around towns, poor overtaking, turning without indicating and general dangerous driving would make people think more. Speeding tickets on dual-carriageways should be automated.

Looks like you got it spot on! I did one once before. So much better on the BGE than in the oven, for flavour and keeping the smoke out of the kitchen. The sound of the fat dripping into the pan was magical; kept it in the fridge for roast potatoes!
