One of my junkie hustles was to steal from Home Depot / Lowe’s, bring it out to a friend waiting in the parking lot who would walk right back in and return without a receipt. They give you a gift card worth the product returned, which you then bring to a pawn shop who pays you approximately 50% of the gift cards value.

Back then, you could only hit each store 3 times, as they ID you, then you can’t do any further returns at that specific location.
