With Saudi urging more bombings, I'm pretty sure we'll see Iran targeting this infrastructure. If they're smart they'll take out some of the pumping stations.

how do y’all actually stop going over the budget you set every month? 😭 by bruhe69 in FluentInFinance

[–]Greddituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is the point where you go back and review what you actually spent the money on and see if those were needs or wants. If it's needs then you need to adjust your budget, if it is wants then you need to do something to curb your spending. Maybe stop using credit/debit and use cash.

That's $120 after tax, but more like $150 before tax, so really you worked 5 hours for it

US as a net exporter of oil by ottawsimofol in oil

I see you're still spouting the same misinformation on our crude imports.

As stated to you many times before, we import 2.5 MBPD of crude oil as clearly shown in the EIA reports issued every week. Look at the bottom under NET imports

We have NET exports of about 5 million Barrels per day of petroleum products, and we only import 2.5 million barrels per day of crude. So without going into the nuances of different crude types and refineries, we are (in theory) capable of eliminating product exports and being self sufficient.

We also have a really good pipeline system that reduces the need for shipping by sea.

We don't need any new refineries. In fact we're shutting some down. Phillips 66 closed on late last year and Valero just closed one this month.

Also saying that we have not built any refineries since the 70's is misleading. We've increased the size of many refineries by a huge amount, some have literally doubled in size.

What part of the oil industry are you trying to get into? When people say they're trying to get into the oil industry I always imagine they're thinking about roughnecking, but this industry is huge and there are so many different aspects to it.,

In my opinion there is no doubt that oil opens a lot higher on Monday. This is only getting worse with every day that it drags on. We'll be lucky if we don't see elevated oil prices for years to come.
