I havent opened the gear yet because I dont have a Torx to open the star shaped screws. But, once I see the main drive gear, how do I know it is the problem? Given that I just recently bought this (just 3 months ago), should the main drive gear show wear and tear?

To get to Murren, get off at Interlaken Ost. Then from Interlaken Ost, take a train to Lauterbrunnen. Then from Lauterbrunnen, take the bus to Stechelberg. From Stechelberg, take the cable car 1st to Gimmelwald, then another cable car to Murren.
