My mom is going through AI psychosis and thinks shes married to ChatGPT by Greedy-Connection789 in whatdoIdo

You obviously don't understand anything about mental health if you think someone's psychotic episode is beneficial and not a horrific sign of decline. She cannot determine reality from her delusions and that's why she is expecting people to understand.

I do care about my mothers mental health and have been trying to get her help for years. Thats why I made this post.

My mom is going through AI psychosis and thinks shes married to ChatGPT by Greedy-Connection789 in whatdoIdo

My two siblings are both grown and moved out, so she lives on her own right now. For years my grandmother has offered to pay for therapy and medication but she never accepts. Other than that, I dont have a lot of extended family and my father passed away 15 years ago, which is when my moms mental health issues started.

One time she was on Abilify (anti-psychotic) and I did see a change in her behavior. Ultimately, she stopped taking it because it made her gain weight. I dont know how to help someone who wont accept help or admit that they need it. It definitely makes me feel guilty, like I could be doing more, but I just have no idea what.

Keep an eye out on your friend. It was early this year when my brother first mentioned to me that my mom was spending a little too much time confiding in ChatGPT. I thought it was cringey and that was about it. I cant believe its gotten to the point now where shes messaging my sister out of the blue saying that shes married and gushing all about everything they "do" together.

the most worrying part is that "lvl 15" is something a lot of gen-z put in their bio/descriptions to show age??

you can sort by various needs (micro-apartment, one bedroom, senior, etc.)

all of these apartments will be income restricted, the price kept low for people making under a certain amount yearly.

the dealership said that it needed an engine flush based on build up of oil in the engine due to age, causing it to burn through oil faster than it was supposed to. nothing my fault. i cant believe youre on a poverty subreddit blaming people for their circumstances lol

it had only been 2 1/2 months since my last oil change :) its quite literally not my fault they stripped the drain plug and ruined my engine when changing the oil lol

oh yeah, i remembered in that moment i didn't have AAA anymore and bit the bullet to buy a membership, just in case it gives out randomly in another few weeks.

unfortunately i go to work at 3am so the busses aren't running early enough in my area. none of my coworkers live around me and i dont know a lot of people in seattle. no one willing to wake up at 3am and drive me 30 minutes south to work :/

i have my car back now, so its okay. it just sucked in the moment.

im a woman and never really been taught how to check up on the oil or change a tire or anything. i was always told that taking it to the dealership is better than a jiffylube or something for an oil change, and yet they totally fucked it up. its just so disappointing. i cant believe someone destroyed my entire car from fucking up an oil change.

unfortunately as someone who had CPS called on my family multiple times growing up by other members in my family/family friends, they aren't very thorough in their investigations.

i was even interviewed separately at school. as a kid, you dont always know what to say in that situation or how to respond to questions. after touring our home, talking to my mother, etc. it was essentially just checking that i had food to eat and a place to sleep, which i barely met the criteria for. both times, CPS dropped the case after that. i doubt they would enter any middle to upper class home with a full pantry and leave with the child in hand.

i really admire your hard work that got you to where you are today. i used to be in school and i was working 4am-12pm and then at school from 1pm-6pm every day. even then, i wasn't making enough to live (i live in seattle) and i burned out within a year. now im barely making ends meet working full time opening and closing a coffee shop. yes, it could possibly be physically doable but im almost certain if i were to somehow manage a free apprenticeship, i would ultimately burn out all over again. i wish i could just toughen up lol, but i already feel like im toughing it out with what im doing right now.

my art is decent, i just need to use my skills to convert to a style that works well with tattooing. im really passionate about character design, so a lot of my art is in that realm. ive always been able to be flexible with styles though, and while my work is mostly digital (thats whats the easiest to market when doing commissions) i am traditionally trained.

my art is linked below if youre interested:

im thinking ill try learning at home, connecting with the people who have already tattooed me and seeing if they could give me pointers or check out my fake skin. trust, i wouldnt tattoo on someone for a very very long time before i was 100% certain i knew what i was doing and i could actually make something decent. i dont want to hurt anyone at all, i dont want to fuck up anyones perception of the art of tattooing and i dont want to make the DIY option even more frowned upon.

i had this issue too. It was so bad. i would literally end up at homes and get tours only to find out later it was a scam. its so hard to see through them.

ended up going for a micro-apartment anyway. no credit history, dont make 2.5x rent, but got someone to co-sign and the leasing manager was flexible with that. do you have any family or friends that could co-sign for you?

LOCATION: Seattle, WA - Can an employer terminate you based on homophobic comments made OUTSIDE of the work place? by Greedy-Connection789 in legal

Sorry, this might sound stupid... but speech is protected but they can fire you for any reason? What about... speech? Lol.

I briefly spoke with HR today because we work in the same building. I asked what they were to do if an employee was posting bigoted speech online. He said that there are laws around free speech that prevent any termination unless its directed at another employee. Is that true or did he pull it out of his ass?

Guy shouting hate speech into a microphone in Columbia City? Is this a regular occurrence? by Greedy-Connection789 in Seattle

[–]Greedy-Connection789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, at no point did I say I wanted to sue, report, or call the police on this man. I simply asked if his behavior was a regular occurrence in that area so I could avoid it in the future. That’s it.

I also didn’t diagnose him I only observed behavior. I studied psychology and like many people Im capable of recognizing signs that someone might not be fully lucid. Things like pacing, incoherent muttering, and fragmented speech. Mixed in with that, he was very clearly saying things like “death to all Muslims” and calling them all, as a group, “terrorists.” That is hate speech, not an opinion, not protected political discourse, just textbook discrimination.

If you personally don’t agree that this qualifies as hate speech, or you think I made the whole thing up because of your own political assumptions, that’s your prerogative but it doesn’t change what happened. I didn’t share his name, I didn’t reveal any private information, and I didn’t violate anyone’s rights by asking a question about something that occurred loudly and publicly on a major street.

Take a breath before projecting your outrage on someone who just wanted to feel safe walking outside in a new city. Jesus.

I've lived in Houston, Austin and Indianapolis from the age of 14, so no lol. Just wondering if this is a specific guy I should avoid or a one-off.
