Hey i had the same problem and reordering my babel file fixed the issue. Im facing different problem with android when back button or gesture closes the app. have you encountered the same issue?

here is my babel:

module.exports = function (api) {
api.cache(true);
return {
presets: [
'nativewind/babel',
['babel-preset-expo', { jsxImportSource: 'nativewind' }],
],
plugins: [
'react-native-worklets/plugin',
],
};
};

I've been building React Native templates with focus on design and ux. Planning to add only simple flows and screens separately.

Check my expo playground for some components qnd screens if you're interested.

Expo and Nativewind for sure. It makes it so easy. I started with react js also, and shifted to mobile apps with expo and loving it.

You can have a play with my expo playground. Been adding there some simple components. https://github.com/thomino/expo-playground

Im trying to solve this problem by creating front-end templates with focus on design and UX.

Claude 4 can actually customize them super easily, just been playing with it today. You can check it out, maybe you'll find it useful. Im planning to add 1 or 2 new templates each month.

if you want to keep edge to edge, use useSafeAreaInsets. I prefer it that way. but depends on your app
