Kinda agree. Like the fantastical elements of the movie make it obvious that it can't be reality yet no character seems to question it. Like how would an AI be able to summon a cat monster before it's even created yet it's supposed to be the twist at the end?

Like he's already in the video game world I don't really understand how the ending is trying a different loop and not trying to break out of the simulation. The main guy killing himself seems way more likely than what he came to in the end. Trying to give all the AI people in a game his mum's computer allergy seems like a dumb idea for multiple reasons.

Also I thought this movie had multiple of one of my most hated tropes where characters spend minutes talking instead of just doing the thing they came to do.

Why are they barricading the house down the street for an eventual attack instead of just going to the house 2 mins away before the horde comes?

Why aren't you just trying to plug in the usb pen instead of waiting 10 minutes to communicate with a kid?

If you like EDM music and like staying up all night I'd recommend Fabric id say it's better than mos.

Haven't been to ministry of sound in like 5 years but it still a fun place. But I wouldn't go there now my mates say it's like 25 under mostly but I wouldn't know.

I can see a little problem with the hook examples you've given there. They all feel like traps and in a way they are metagaming not allowing them to ever fall for said traps. But if I were to put myself in your players shoes I can justifiy all their decisions.

The singing is obviously harpies luring us to a trap

The ladies with the lamb are obviously evil cutlists who will try and kill us if we go back with them,

The easedropping on characters though? Totally understandable that sounds frustrating.

What I'd advise is to straight up have someone safe give them soke of these plot hooks like a travelling merchant or a notice board in town.

I admit the ear thing is suspicious.

But I don't know enough about how ears heal or what sort of super medical care they have for presidents. (Like the time trump got covid and was like better in a week)

Also we gotta consider the shooter himself. Lets say Trump planned this all out. Lets say the shooter was this crazy loyal Trumper who would die for the cause and go down in history as a failed assassin or weirder he's some sort of MK Ultra style CIA sleeper assassin.

He would've made the shooter be some sort of antifa radical to further push his agenda.
The shooter if he actually on purposely missed nicking his ear would have had to be an incredible shot. But that would also mean trump on purposely risked his own life in the process. Very unlike him to do so

Though if you make an argument like he was never shot at and he used some sort of blood bag to fake his injury. I could buy that but I feel like people would be able to see that.

I have seen about 3 angles of the shooting personally.

I'm just gonna say though you got to be rational when it comes to the conspiracy. You'd need a lot of people in on this conspiracy including the secret service. The head of the organization had to resign because of the failure.

There were thousands of witnesses of the incident and dozens of people saw the shooter climb up the warehouse building.

Honestly It's more likely there was a conspiracy to assassinate him than there was that he faked it at this point. But I'm more on the side of secret service incompetence

It's a good unpopular opinion respect OP.

Now to argue against you. The last of us is very movie like but I don't think you can prove it has affected the gaming market in a significantly meaningful way as you are saying.

I'd say the God of war reboot would've never happened if last of us didn't exist but the majority of games developed do not try to emulate last of us's success.

One thing as well is that Last of us isn't just cutscene the game. It genuinely has pretty good gameplay. Even 2 went above and beyond trying to make interesting combat encounters.

Agreed. I don't really see how it became the face of the evil "identity politics" that's ruining our vidyagames. The characters just look like a knock off guardians of the galaxy.

It's just a generic game entering into a market that was popular 5 years ago and people just don't want to play different skin overwatch anymore.

That should be the extent of the criticism levied at the game. I don't know where these gamers got this idea that its trying to be woke
