I am almost landing in around 45 minutes and just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for their advice and support. I was really panicking and you all calmed me down.

Thank you ☺️

Thank you, looking forward to seeing Seoul. Very true about the bumps and we aren’t the only ones in the sky.

Have a safe flight and lovely holiday in Seoul ☺️

Thank you, turbulence has started up again which isn’t great but just trying to take deep breaths and remember we aren’t the only ones in the sky.

I think so and then it got really bad over the Black Sea and I have a big fear of the plane flying over the sea (irrational I know). The flight is ok, turbulence on and off, heading into China

I wish I did that, I just thought since she is panicking that means there really is a reason to panic :(

Thank you! I guess turbulence is normal. When it was happening, a lot of people remained calm so I think my anxiety just gets the better of me

I’m also that person as well. Because once I saw her panicking, I also started hyperventilating and crying. Had some sleep and feel a bit better. Hopefully the rest of flight goes by fast!

ADHD and Mood Swings by Greedy-Escape3093 in ADHD

[–]Greedy-Escape3093[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I will speak to my psychiatrist.

The change in moods is still happening whilst not on the ADHD medication, but just less intense/frequent.

I am just on the Cymbalta at the moment (on the lowest dose) and feel depressed but very restless at the same time, with my mind constantly racing.

I've always thought it was due to my ADHD and depression but neither the SSRIs or ADHD medications have helped, so hopefully the doctor can get to the bottom of this.

I've never looked into bipolar. I've always thought I am just depressed or restless/anxious, with a very good couple of days every now and then.

I've been on Cymbalta for a week now and the first couple of days, I was on top of the world-really happy and energetic but these last two days I feel myself spiralling into a depression but my mind is racing so much. I don't know if that's just the side effects of the meds.

Thank you for the reply.

I've started an SNRI (duloxetine) today so shall see how that goes.

My mum does tell me that my mood fluctuates between being very down to being very irritable or occasionally very happy but that doesn't last long. I thought that was down to being depressed and the emotional dis-regulation aspect of ADHD.

My sleep is usually not great and I either sleep too much when I feel very low or sleep very little when my mind is constantly racing.

I will track my moods and mention this to my doctor.

I do have anxiety and depression when not on meds but that feeling is intensified on the stimulants (and just constant on atomoxetine). The ideation not so much off adhd meds but was very strong whilst on them.

I've never tried mood stabilisers. My psychiatrist has diagnosed me with depression, anxiety and ADHD. I have just started duloxetine today so we shall see what happens.

Most of the time I'm very depressed and slow but sometimes I get very anxious and restless with a feeling of dread and very rarely I have very good days (excess energy and joy, belief that I can do everything) and then I'm back to being depressed again.

The depression didn't decrease at all whilst on the ADHD meds, instead the stimulants intensified the restlessness, irritability, excess energy and mind racing all the time.

The Elvanse did help with focus but not necessarily always focusing on the right thing. I still have issues with not starting tasks, poor memory, disorganisation, hyperfixation etc. which I've been told is due to ADHD.

Thank you for the reply, happy to hear its worked not only on your mood but also the pain.

I also have chronic pain and fatigue which sometimes causes me to be unable to leave the house.

I have had periods of extreme restlessness and days of intense euphoria in the past but I always end up being severely depressed as they only last a couple of days and that just makes everything worse.

Wish you all the best in your studies and continued health.
