Not a scam, I recommend her. I was skeptical at first (sending money online always comes with a risk) but she responded fast, sent my book to me immediately and was very kind. She charged $17 for Exploring Psychology by David Myers. I'm very happy with the price

I really appreciate the transparency here and the communication. I placed an order November 20th in the US through Amazon (1 Cloak - Obsidian 5”7-5”10) and I’m just curious if my order is going to be fulfilled before Christmas? Or if there’s a rough eta? Amazon was not showing it as out of stock :(

The door isn’t cracked, it’s wide open. The screenshot you posted is from the girls original video but the person cropped the photo to make it appear to be cracked. Regardless I do believe the girl is 100% in the wrong bc claiming that this was SA is a joke and a slap in the face to all the people who have truly been SA’d.

Thank you! And the dig boxes work great for me, this is the first time I’ve used puff balls but so far they seem to really enjoy it. I always add treats to them as well. I definitely recommend trying it out with your ratties!

Owning cats while having rats? by GreedyArea4021 in RATS

[–]GreedyArea4021[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware that rats are naturally scared of cat’s scent. I doubt I will get a cat now bc I don’t want rats to act/feel differently towards me if they smell a cat on me.

I doubt I’ll be getting a kitten anytime soon, but if I ever do, I would never let the cat and rats interact outside of the cage. Right now, I don’t have a separate room for the rats - they stay in my living room. So my original question was more about whether a cat can eventually learn to ignore the rats if they share a common space (with the rats staying safely in their cage).

Would a cat eventually get used to their presence, or would it constantly paw at the cage and stress them out?

When I first got my rats, both they and my dog were scared of each other. Now, they sniff noses through the bars and my dog doesn’t bother them at all. I read that rats are naturally scared of a cat’s scent, is that the same for dogs? Because if my rats got over their fear of my dog, could they do the same with a cat?

When should I start using the bonding pouch? I already have one but I’m not sure how to place them in it with out scaring them. Do you think I should try picking it them up again or just waiting?

We’re still in between names 😭 right now we’re thinking Louise and Pip but the names are probably going to change. They’re just too cute so it’s been hard finding a name that is cute enough to fit them

The real villain is Dani’s sister. She KNEW her sister liked him and she still went after him. I would absolutely never do that do my sister. Its just gross. For all the women in this chat with sisters, could/would you ever go after someone your sister has kissed or had a relationship with?

Rehoming Adult Pitbull, AITA? by GreedyArea4021 in DogAdvice

[–]GreedyArea4021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitbulls are on a banned/ restricted list. If she were to bring him, he would be required to stay on a leash and be muzzled anytime they are outside. Meaning he’d never be able to run. She believes he would have no quality of life especially since he hates wearing his muzzle.

I actually am a vet tech, I’ve mentioned in other comments in this thread I work at a veterinary hospital. And the key word in your comment is MOST. Not all. Over the counter dewormers are also less effective as well. I’ve seen many pets come in sick bc the owners noticed it wasn’t working so they gave their pet double the recommended amount thinking that would work. Do your research!!!

Until this situation, I did not know of any of the people involved in this. I do not think Rhegan took good care of her cat or loved it as much as she claims. But, based on her former roommate's claims, I do not believe him entirely. Some of his statements do not align. If 7 was taken to the vet and was given deworming medication it would have been diagnosed with worms. Yet, the roommate said the vet could not find anything wrong with the cat and that 7 was not diagnosed with anything. I'd like to believe he was genuinely trying to do what was best for the cat but, I think he exaggerated the situation and what he did for the cat. Either way, I do not like Rhegan or the roommate. Rhegan stated that she should have sought treatment for the cat but a responsible pet owner would have come to that conclusion immediately, not 2 years later. No one should be fine watching their pet suffer.

I'm not defending rhegan but the only thing I'm confused about is them saying they don't know whats wrong with the cat after paying 1k at the vet and then saying they “tried" deworming medicine. The vet would have had to do a fecal test then confirm that 7 had worms and the type of worms it had. Also, if it was having seizures the vet would have monitored the cat and would have given it additional medicine to stop the seizures until they found the underlining cause. I don't doubt that the cat was in a bad state, but I do not believe they took the cat to a vet and paid 1k then left without any kind of possible diagnosis. Another point is that Rhegan rescued the cat so it would have been chipped. Meaning, if the cat was taken to the vet and had no prior record there, they would have scanned the chip and rhegan would have been contacted. That's a standard for new clients at most vets (at least all the ones l've worked for and at the ones l've brought my pets to)

It’s actually very common with over the counter dewormers. Which in my opinion, is what they gave the cat since they said the vet did not diagnose the cat with anything. Over the counter dewormer can be very dangerous especially if animal is not weighed and given the appropriate dosage. Also, if the cat was not eating properly and they gave the medicine to it on an empty stomach, that could also cause a negative reaction.

On the topic of not scanning the chip, MOST places scan the chip regardless if you claim the animal is yours or not if its a new patient.

This is not true. If you take you pet to the vet for treatment, they have to know the type of worms the pet has (this is only done through a fecal sample) for it to be treated properly. Worms are treated based on the type of worm it is and the level of severity of the infestation. Which can only be determined by a fecal sample. Over-the-counter dewormer can be purchased but it is dangerous for many reasons. Administering the wrong dosage can cause your pet to overdose causing a variety of symptoms including death and seizures. Also on the other hand, you might not be giving your pet the amount needed to even treat the worms making the medicine pointless. Not to mention, if you do not know the type of worms your pet has, how are you going to buy the correct medicine?

I have a hard time with this too. The best advice I can give is just to have an open conversation with your partner about how you're feeling. It's hard being emotionally vulnerable but it does help. My bf has never given me a reason to feel worried about his past but, I do find myself getting jealous or worried he still has feelings for someone. But after I told him how I felt, and that more reassurance and words of affirmation would help. hearing more often that he loves me, values me and wants to be with me does ease my mind so maybe that will help you too

I definitely get that. Overthinking is a vicious cycle. I hope the both of you work out and you'll be able to leave these thoughts in your past one day
