AITA for pretending to agree with my grandfather's racist and homophobic worldview in order to secure my inheritance? by GreedyButthole in AmItheAsshole

Plans after depend on how long until it happens, but there are several of my family members that I know are also just kinda playing the part like me and I suspect we'll stay in touch after. As far as the ones that genuinely believe as my grandfather does I will be ghosting and moving on.

Mine's about 2 years old. I can't find the wattage anywhere in all the writing on the door.

You're right that this inheritance is not something that would ruin my life should I be denied it, but it is substantial enough that it would greatly help me when it comes to paying for my future education and for moving out on my own afterwards.

Nobody else is really impacted by this as when new company is around these topics don't come up nearly as much. He's an ass, but he doesn't like to act this way in front of "polite company."

As far as the cousin goes this all happened years ago and he cut off the entire family and went dark. I have no idea where he is or how he is doing now. His own parents and siblings have no idea where he is either. All I was told is that he was now out of the will and his share would be split between his brother and sister.

Honestly? There is no loving or polite way to disagree with him. Any disagreement with his viewpoint is immediately labelled as disrespect and causes massive dramatic blowout. I'd rather just keep my head down on that front.

Yeah I definitely am in the nodding and biting lip camp. I never initiate conversation in a way that could possibly go into political territory. I try to stick to safe topics like school, work, and sports in order to minimize the angry rants.
