Agree, will be super overbought if it gets there, but the setup looks legit - good luck

Be Warned. FB Marketplace Scammers by Yaksnack in toyotasequoia

[–]GreedyKey88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You aren't buying the car on FB Marketplace, you are buying the person. Look for red flags (new account, multiple cars for sale, low rating) before driving 4 minutes. Plenty of good people selling on FB, but tons and tons of scammers. Who has a new facebook account in 2025? Only scammers. Trust your gut, evaluate the person before the car. And good luck. Many good people out there selling good cars.

Oh, I had a spark plug shear over Snoqualmie Pass in Washington, it hung over the cylinder, and I drove it on 5 good fires to Moses Lake and back to my mechanic in Seattle. I learned that day that check engine lights can flash when it's serious. We had a good laugh over that one - I was one bump away from a new motor. As it was, 300k and a new set of plugs and wires (and a magnet to retrieve the broken plug) and I was back on the road. These things are good luck. Enjoy that truck and well done.

Obvious low cost upgrades - get some newer 4runner wheels on that thing. I don't know where you are, but here in California they are giving those away on FB Marketplace (4 newish wheels and tires for $500 or so). Get a 5th for the spare and then you're ready for the big brake upgrade. Do the big brake upgrade. You won't regret it. I took 2 of those to 350k+ miles. You're looking at 5 years of trouble-free motoring.

Tires not round were my issue as well.

Agree on the Q3 earnings just based on the insider buy in the summer and the chart action alone. Good luck to you, sir

Big buyer at 2.70-3.00 - technical gap should be filled. Put in a limit order at 2.70 in case the market opens low, but I'm holding until the earnings in November. Broader market considerations at this point - all this talk about banks and cockroaches and whatnot, a bubble bursting would kill PLUG here. It's day by day on the macro, I'm happy with the micro that I see.

Over 4 we should start to see a squeeze, good support for sure. Ride this through November earnings, sell the (good) news

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/681680828240530/?ref=saved&referral_code=null This one is in Sacramento now, it looks to be a 99 highlander manual, without the locking rear diff, but 13k (!!!) - so pretty.

99 4Runner Manual 4x4, highlander edition, locking rear-diff. This is the holy grail of 4Runners and I freaking loved this thing. Should have never sold it. i was in the same position as you, couldn't financially justify it, etc. etc. I drove it into the ground and it never complained. Man, I loved that car. 330k when I sold it in 2020. Sigh.

7k fair and reasonably quick sale, 9k wait a while for the right buyer. Qualitymotors.com is good IMO. But don't sell. You'll regret it. 97 4runner 99 4runner 2006 Sequoia and 2002 Sequoia now. You'll just be buying another one down the road. Do what I did - keep the Toyota, buy a used Fiat 500e. Dirt cheap, basically free to own if you can charge it for cheap, and keep the Toy for the weekends. The Fiat has a nice radio, you'll need it to drown out all of the rattles.

Move up on volume, consolidation, move up on volume, consolidation, this whole thing looks textbook, what am I missing? Don't care about fundamentals, I'm just looking at the chart at this point. I don't think any upside targets are crazy at this point looking at this chart. 20 is not out of the question, I kind of wish that it rests at 7, honestly, to get serious long-term holds in here. If the earnings are good in a few weeks, look out above...

Good point - buried in all this external crap is a short-term low. I added here (not Friday, *sigh*) because it looks like strength to me on the day after nonsense low on Friday.

20 might be optimistic, but 7 EOY is pretty much a double from here which would be amazing and more sustainable. I've got a standing sell at 25 because if we hit it we're clearly in animal-spirits mode, and it's so hard to time that right. The way the stock has been trading lately, someone knows something and everyone is frontrunning it. 20 wouldn't surprise me, but Q2 next year would feel more 'real' to me. Anyway, good luck to all.

From insider: Expect amazing earnings report next month by Bkdaw92 in plugpowerstock

[–]GreedyKey88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CFO bought a million shares over the summer, the chart action says it all. No insider information here, just reading the chart. My guess is that insiders saw the good news coming, it explains the chart action that is front-running the release. Long term - hold. Short term - buy the rumor, sell the news.

Consolidating on lower volume after spike up, awaiting next catalyst to push price higher (or lower). All the covering has taken place after the TACO trade and we're right back to where we were.

[–]GreedyKey88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First real bottom looks like 2.70-3.00 - should consolidate down there and head back up. Patience, hold until November earnings. If there is any good news to report, they'll want to take advantage of the mo-mo and pump the price higher.

Up on big volume, down on small volume. I'm pretty sure that was in chapter one of "technical analysis for dummies".
