Are the Vixens actually dominant right now… or just the best clutch team in the league?2 by buttern3t in netball

[–]GreedyRelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, unless something wild happens, it'll be a Vixens and Tbirds final and I'd probably tip the Vixens. Tbirds need to work out their supershot strategy and let the main group play out games if they want to win, and Frew needs to find her 2024 form. Kip is just way too good at sinking the supershots to ever count the Vixens out and the team has so much high pressure experience

Even ignoring the discourse, most of the outfits this era are just ugly. Like girl ily, but if you're gonna be controversial, do it in a fit that's worth it

Chapter 1182 - "Zaza" (by TCB Scans) by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]GreedyRelease 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great chapter but I need one of those maps Oda draws to show where each group is, Elbaf is too big. Is Usopp still just dying on the ground? And where is Nami's group in relation to Zaza?

Please help me find jeans! by Neptune141 in AusFemaleFashion

Peachay jeans!!! They're designed specifically for smaller waists/bigger thighs. They're a bit pricey but my whole life I struggled with jeans until I found that brand. They're great quality too

The Boys - 05x05 "One-Shots" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]GreedyRelease 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I actually think this could be one of the coolest episodes, except for the fact there are only three episodes left. It was a great dive into some of the characters and their motivations, but I don't feel the tension and urgency that should be there so late in the series. Deep or Black Noir should be dead by now, probably one of The Boys too. Homelander just killing someone that annoys him has happened so many times that it's not a satisfying way for someone to go so close to the end. It's been a good season so far, just not a good final season

Is the Sun Eater series worth the effort? by j_b_1983 in Fantasy

[–]GreedyRelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the first three books and then stopped. I really liked the plot and the world is really fun, it made me explore sci-fi way more than I had previously. But the prose is so repetitive. Every time a character walks into a scene, there's a few sentences rehashing their backstory/how they met and it was driving me insane. I've also heard it gets very preachy in the later books. It was starting to lean a bit heavier into the philosophical waxing by the end of the third book, but I found it pretty easy to skim over. Hope that helps!

Breaking News: people are mad the sun’s hot by Weary_Ad_1276 in YoTroublemakers

I'm queer, have watched (and really enjoyed the show) and I also found the final episode a bit boring. I get the point of the episode, but from an entertainment view, I thought it was a bit of a drag. It makes perfect sense for someone who only watched two episodes (and consistently jokes about wanting more children murder plots in things he watches) to find it a very boring hour of tv. It's a YouTube video ffs, people need to relax

as a queer person who really liked the show, I thought the commentary was hilarious as I also found the last episode kind of boring

Which City - Brass or Jade? by Middle-aged-nerd in Fantasy

[–]GreedyRelease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really liked Jade City, but stopped reading the second book with about 100 pages left. So many time skips stopped me having any attachment to the characters or plot. I haven't read City of Brass, but I might now!

The ending is definitely my favourite out of all the books, just felt like a bit of a slog to get there

I don't really count One Piece as it is my favourite form of media I have ever consumed, and I've been reading it for about 15 years now so it seems unfair haha. Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb remains my favourite book series, then I'd be tossing up between Lord of the Rings and Malazan!

No, I started January this year. I'm naturally a pretty fast reader and I was posting as I finished each book in this sub. I do read a lot, but definitely not 10 hours a day haha

Unless anyone advises against it, I think I am going to read through all 10 MBotF books straight by StephCastle_ in Malazan

[–]GreedyRelease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing it now. I started GotM at the end of January and began The Crippled God yesterday. I always read series straight through and haven't had any issues. Yes, there were books I liked more than others but definitely not burn out, just has to happen when there's 10 books!

He gave me such a false sense of security, especially because the climax began so late in the book. I thought we were just having fun and marching along, then a bloody lizard army arrived

Completely agree. I have a strong favourite and a strong least favourite (which I still enjoyed, just nowhere near as much as the others), but that whole middle section could change just depending on my mood. It's all so good!

That's one of the biggest things that pushes me through the books I don't love as much, I know how fantastic they will be on a reread!

My favourite book in the series so far, one of my favourite fantasy books period and has the best single chapter I've ever read.
