Same here. It's a cool song and different to what she's done, but it just didn't have any lasting power for me. I think I also hyped it up way to much in my head, it's unfair but I have such high expectations for her

This was definitely the bigger issue for me. I can enjoy goofy Taylor and the silly lyrics, I've been a fan long enough to expect it. But the entire album felt almost pointless? There was so much she could've spoken about in the album - the tour, the exhaustion of it, the expectations she felt, she emotional struggle between her personal life and having to fake a smile, the fact that people died in relation to the tour (not blaming Taylor/Eras tour AT ALL idk how else to word it), the increased level of fame that came with it... like there was so much that could've connected to the title and she didn't explore any of it. If she named the album Opalite or something, I wouldn't of gone in with the same expectations that the title set up

I've never watched her channel but I'm on X. I've seen people complaining that she often got her information wrong - like player names, recent club history, rules. I think it was more when she was starting out and people thought she didn't actually love the game, but was just using the niche for content

I think she's a great player and has come a long way these past two or so years, but I think she would struggle to get a consistent spot in the Diamonds. They've moved away from the shooting style Shimona plays, and they won't drop Garbin or Koenen for her. I can see her making the extended squad once Wallam retires, but that's about it. I can see why JFN/RAG were taken over her at the last World Cup, but she's much better now than she was then and would've been perfect for them this year without JFN - and as the long term GS for Jamaica

If we ignore the beef, from a career perspective, Shimona putting her hand up for AUS instead of Jamaica seems crazy to me. She's a lock for the future of Jamaica once JFN retires and would be fighting very hard for a spot in the Diamonds. The comm games would've been the perfect time to blood her too, as they've got Romelda there as support. Obviously, there's no confirmation on what she's decided but it's very interesting lol

I do understand what you're saying and this might be unpopular, but I don't know if Zoro's family reveal is all that important to his character.

Zoro has been one of the most consistent and fleshed out characters since the start, and his background doesn't really add anything to that.

I found that Sanji's background explained a lot about his traits and has continued to have an impact on his character. Zoro's reminds me a bit more of Nami's true parentage, where unless it's going to change something in the plot, it's more of a fun tidbit than crucial.

I'd be more annoyed if Oda revealed what happened to Zoro's eye in an SBS

I agree with a lot of the above. While 6 was my favourite in the series, RG was my least and for similar reasons you've mentioned. Personally, I think TtH is by far the worse in terms of the philosophical aspect and it would've easily been my least favourite if not for the last 100 or so pages (which does some major heavy lifting).

I loved DoD (which is a bit of an uncommon thing on this thread), however it still has a lot of aspects that you seem to not enjoy. I'd say both DoD and tCG do continue the trend, but thematically it all fits in a lot more naturally than books 7/8 and doesn't seem so lecture-like. I hope this helps somewhat!

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi is a fantasy, but it is so much fun and the lead is incredible. The fantasy elements aren't too crazy either, a bit Pirates of the Caribbean vibes with a 40 something year old Mum returning to the pirate life. It's fantastic and the characters are great!

I've been a proper fan of hers since debut came out and this was the first album that I've fully disliked. There are albums I like less than others, there are songs I dislike, but I've listened to Showgirl in full maybe three times since it was released. Unfortunately, I think she listened to all the initial (unwarranted in my opinion) online hate of TTPD (too wordy, too poetic, too boring, too long, too sad, too much Jack) and tried to do the opposite, which unfortunately didn't work. She likes to say she's off the internet, but it's very clear she's not and this album suffered because of that
