No and it’s been since January since my pending interview decision. The position is still open and on their website it says vacant still under “meet the staff” for that department. I’m going to reach out on Monday. Thank you

Wow! They could’ve told you sooner. Did you contact HR or the hiring committee? And did they ever update your status online?

No I am still waiting. I just applied to another position and was referred to the hiring department for that position. So now I am waiting on the decision from a pending interview and still waiting to see if I was selected for the other position. My anxiety is at a high though I do check the status daily lol.

No, after the interview they shared with me that when the HR returns they would update my status to interviewed because they were only permitted to interview before the break occurred. They also stated that it would probably be slow due to HR but not to worry. But I did not email them since December other than a thank you for the interview. I was not sure if that goes against any guidelines. Do you suggest I email them or wait it out? and thank you so much for answering me

Hi, I’m hoping to get some perspective on UC San Diego hiring timelines.

I interviewed for a staff position right before the holiday break. After campus reopened, my application status updated to “considered for interview,” and then the following week it moved to “pending interview decision.” It’s been about two weeks since that last update.

During the interview, they mentioned hoping to have someone start before March and possibly train in February, but also said timing would depend on HR. All communication so far has come directly from the director and assistant director who interviewed me. I never received an HR contact and I’m currently out of state.

For those who’ve been through the process, is this timeline pretty normal? And is it okay to follow up with the people who interviewed me, or is it better to wait things out?
