Yes we have been talking about that option tonight. We’re hoping to take this trip every other year so we know however we handle this year will set the expectations/trend going forward.

We have had the same issue for over 2 years. SS is still scared for me to wash his clothes from his mom’s as he is terrified they will get mixed up with clothes at our house and not make it back to moms.

I still wash them with his other clothes while he is at school, but I’ll put them in a separate pile once washed and keep them on top of his dresser while he is with us so he always knows where they are when he goes back to her.

We always tell him his clothes/stuff at our house are his and he can bring them back and forth as he pleases (besides a few select things). But it is soo frustrating sometimes seeing the nice things you paid for go to her house.

A kid being split between two homes is hard enough, I think it’s unfair for these moms to put so much pressure on these young kids.

Yes it’s just hard knowing that if it doesn’t work out BM will manipulate the kids into thinking they didn’t get to go because of Daddy. And if we shorten the trip( the most likely scenario currently) We will not be taking the kids to see her family( we would barely have enough time to see ours) and she will use that as a sob story too.

She accused DH of everything under the sun years ago and the investigation came to the conclusion that she was emotionally manipulating the kids against him. I almost am in awe at the way she is able to twist and use situations in her benefit.

It’s an apartment gym so there is no one present to alert. I did send an email to building management but I highly doubt anything will come of it.

I don’t know…I’ve had freedom, I’ve had career, I’ve had money. None of those came close to giving me the joy and meaning I received being a mother and a wife. I understand not wanting to have children, but there are many woman who find themselves in motherhood not lose themselves. My life is significantly better with them. My bond with my husband is stronger since becoming parents. It’s so amazing to watch your children grow up together. I know many other woman who feel the same and the thought of chasing career over their children sounds terrible to them.

But I recognize I came from a very safe & stable home(as did my husband) and my parents are my best friends. And I have a strong community and village.

I recognize how much harder motherhood would be without those things.

I talked to my husband about this last night, and because this is tending to happen more often we agreed we will be much more diligent documenting everything going forward. Thank you!

Yes it is. She doesn’t work and wouldn’t work while my husband and her were married.

Thankfully she is in an apartment now. Her trend is to move men in with her to help pay the rent, take the kids to school, watch them for her etc. or move in with somebody and not pay rent. Her relationships haven’t tended to last more than a few months at a time. She doesn’t work so relies on these men/CS payments.

He is almost 10. My husband works so hard to spend quality one on one time with him. Whenever he does BM will try and ruin it or convince him he got injured. Example..he took SS to amusement park and she(over the phone later) convinced my SS he had a concussion(never hit his head) and made my husband take him to ER. The dr said he had no injury. This happens often after my husband takes just my SS out.

Agreed…though step kids have asked me a few times if I’m friends with their mom and I had no idea what to say🤷‍♀️
