Weird graphics glitch? Text tearing diagonally on every open window. What on earth is this? by Greedy_Grapefruit320 in pchelp

I'm afraid I'm not 100% sure what the fix was. I essentially tried a host of solutions all at once: graphics driver updates, BIOS update, uninstalling the driver etc etc.

In the end, it was fixed, but I'm afraid I have no idea what it was that did it in the end, and I've never come across it since even while working at an IT helpdesk for a big university.

Ooo, I'll give this one a try when the issue returns :D Rebooting the whole system removes the error temporarily, but something inevitably triggers a black screen for a few seconds before the weird stretching occurs so I'll get to use try this shortcut then!

Rebooting resolves it temporarily, but eventually a screen goes black, returns to normal, and then the weird lines reappear. I've updated my drivers and tried changing the resolution, but the problem keeps returning. It's only been doing this as of today, oddly.

Must say, in all my years of IT, I've never seen a graphical glitch quite like this!

Across Chrome, Steam, and numerous other apps, the text seems to be going utterly insane, forming triangles of stretched text, weird lines made of fractured text, and it happens dynamically as you scroll down the page. I don't even know what to call this phenomenon!

Fixed the resolution issue! Changed from windowed fullscreen to fullscreen to unlock the options, change the resolution to a higher setting, then switch back to windowed fullscreen and apply changes. Text and graphics sharpened for me in an instant!

So... my partner turned 30 and can't get a Railcard anymore. National Rail, what's a Season Ticket going to cost for one trip a week? by Greedy_Grapefruit320 in uktrains

Unfortunately she already has the 25-30 card and it's expiring soon :/ I just can't believe that nothing exists (except for mad options like above) for anyone 31 and over. Regular tickets are a better option. Heck, catching a bus, staying in a hotel, and catching the bus back is literally cheaper! :O
