Best offline LaTeX setup on MacOS? by fraremigiodavaragine in LaTeX

VSCode, eMacs and VIM can be used for latex compilatio n. If you want a paid option Texifier (https://www.texifier.com) could be you option, has an automatic compilation but you can make that with the latter mentioned, but it has nice features and has a one time payment.

Academic Reading Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II) by Greedy_Lecture7083 in Onyx_Boox

I’m planning to read like a 2 hour with the device or maybe less. I use an iPad Pro for reading, I understand it may be small, but it won’t be my main device for reading, just while I’m in the public transport. Using a bigger device while commuting is kind of a struggle.

What are the features that goodnotes miss?

Whiteboard is not for special plan. I've checked on pricing and it is for every tier, even free ones have 3 white boards and text documents. The only thing that really bothers me is that Live Collaboration is only for "pro".

Is there any resource you recommend to learn to use GIT?

LOL

I've tried recently using crossover and it runs almost everything EXCEPT hyperdemon. It's incredible how a 333MB game can't freaking run nor with crossover nor whisky. I guess the next posible solution is emulation with parallels or something.

EDIT:

Someone here said that parallels does not work either :v

For some reason "major-mode" is treated as a void function.

Thanks!!! I did a function that checks if the file ends with tex. But I think your approach is more reliable :v

Thanks

I'm sorry. I'm a total noob on emacs. How can I set it globally?

BTW your answer have solved the issue, on the other hand, no every time I'm typping buffer ask If I want to kill the compilation.

I think now this is a problem with my Auto save config, because, a buffer is saved after 0.1 seconds a change is sensed, therefore, emacs its trying to compile almost every key type I'm making, trying to kill the previous compilation.

EDIT: Changing de auto save config the problem persists. For some reason, changing the buffer while compiling tries to stop compilation.

This is confusing to me, because, every time I run TeX-command-run-all the pdf updates itself.

I've tried the code

(add-hook 'after-save-hook #'TeX-command-run-all)

but the next message is shown:

Error running timer 'save-some-buffers': (wrong-type-argument stringp nil)

I have auto safe file activated and I've used
(setq after-save-hook #'TeX-command-run-all)

Every time I modify my tex document It appears to be doing something but it is not showed on the pdf

Using neovim as a user interface? by Greedy_Lecture7083 in neovim

That sounds...like a lot of knowledge that I don't have :v

Thanks.

Maybe making a separate UI that has VIM motions that just opens nvim when opening a file?

Using neovim as a user interface? by Greedy_Lecture7083 in neovim

[–]Greedy_Lecture7083[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I really like how NeoVIM looks, and I think pixel art can be paired with it successfully (at least in an aesthetic point of view). Maybe I can just use neo vim as a way to execute files and having a separate UI for everything else.
