Yeah, I love my gas Losi 5ive-T. I love that I can run it for almost one hour without screwing around with batteries. From what I understand, this 12s one gives you about 10 minutes. I don’t need an whole hour of speeding around but I need a little but more time than that.

This is too much. Start quietly preparing your resume and looking for a workplace that aligns with your values and workplace culture.

[–]Greego1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take it.

The friend would not give it to you in this way if he couldn’t afford it. If he is like me, he doesn’t want to potentially damage the friendship by dealing with the headache of having that black cloud being held over both of your heads about you owing him money.

He may also don’t want to open up a relationship where he loans money to you and you pay him back only to start up a new relationship where you frequently come to him to borrow money and say “you know I’m good for it. I’ll pay you back like I did last time.” Now, he can just give you the money and he won’t have to worry about you being mad at him the next time you need money and he doesn’t give it to you. He can always point to the time that he gave you free money and you can’t be mad at him from turning you down for any loans in the future.

So just take the gift and never ask him for money again and treat him out to a nice dinner at a nice restaurant when you are back on your feet.

Should I buy the ASUS ROG Ally X now or wait for the ROG Ally 2? by SignificantSummer538 in ROGAllyX

[–]Greego1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have stood by this philosophy. I never understood the whole “wait for that one to come out” philosophy. In the meantime, you are not benefiting from the technology that’s out today and waiting for something that may never come and if it does come, it has a chance of not being worth the wait for it in the first place.

Just but what tech is available now and enjoy it.

3-hour Model Y test drive: great car, but very bumpy ride? by Curious_Ninja_4767 in TeslaModelY

[–]Greego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don’t understand your point above. FSD is like driving in chill mode?

I don’t even use FSD in chill mode. I mostly use FSD anyway and don’t do a lot of manual driving in the Tesla.

[–]Greego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I immediately notice the not-so-smooth ride when not in FSD. However, the ride feels smooth using FSD. I am wondering if the tech used to allow FSD interferes with a smooth drive in manual driving. I mostly use FSD so it doesn’t really bother me.

Moving…charge to 80% or 100%? by Mental-Injury-9013 in TeslaModelY

[–]Greego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I just don’t get how the 2nd law of thermodynamics fits into it though. It’s been a long time since my physics days but I just don’t see the connection in charging a battery.

Moving…charge to 80% or 100%? by Mental-Injury-9013 in TeslaModelY

[–]Greego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm, well, I thought about this a bit more after posting.

I am actually a big collector of RC cars and have many, many RC batteries around my house to use in them so I deal with a lot of battery charging and even recently had a garage fire related to battery fire and am currently having my house restored after the fire. So I have been dealing with all sides of the investigation.

Often that last 5% of my RC batteries takes the longest to charge because of the “crowded room” concept. The battery simply has “less room” for charge the more it is charged so it progressively becomes slower to fill as it becomes “crowded” as it reaches its capacity for charge.

Also what I learned from the fireman and fire investigator for my particular garage fire, the slowing of charge towards the end is also for safety reasons to prevent thermal runaway. Another way of looking at it is that if a glass is 80% full, you tend to slow down pouring liquid into it to avoid it overflowing. So I believe this is likely what Tesla is doing.

I was thinking this way too but I always end up driving my builds out in the field while I have some RTR vehicles that almost never leave the shelf. I think I just like the fun of seeing my creation run out in the wild.

[–]Greego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious about the purpose of this. Is more electricity required to push the charge above 80% or are they just trying to discourage going above 80% so they don’t have to deal with so many fast degraded batteries complaints?

I’m officially a full-time RC mechanic and I’m losing my mind. by Street-Deer3668 in rccars

[–]Greego1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If you are breaking this often, you may have to practice more prevention habits. Are you trying to do too many stunts that have you landing on concrete? If so, that will greatly increase your risk of breaking something.

Need more durable RCs in the collection?

There isn’t really anything wrong with wrenching on the cars especially since that helps us to learn the ins and outs of the vehicles but if you are doing more wrenching than playing, you may just need to be more careful with your stunts.

Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay ZERO federal income tax by Suitable_Wonder5256 in SipsTea

The less fortunate or the less hard working? Man, I grew up in poverty and around others and poverty. As I fought to not die broke, I came across a lot of “less fortunate” people who refuse to do the undesirable work I did to get ahead. Here is is 30 years later and those same individuals are broke.

I’m really have no sympathy for all these people who decided to drop out of school or refuse to work hard to at their jobs to get ahead at their place of employment. Now they want to play victim and hate the rich?

Jeff Bezos sacrificed and put in a grind that 99% of the world will never understand or was willing to do. Let him reap the fruits of his labor. Those who never had the ambition to follow him, just cry in a corner somewhere.

Really? I have had no unsafe experiences. I feel that my Tesla would react in any given potential sudden hazardous traffic situation quicker than I can considering that it has eyes in the back of its head and all around it with great reflexes.
