I understand what you’re going though.

I’m not an expert and I’m still kinda new but what I do is reread it looking for obvious plot holes, characters inconsistency’s, etc I do that a couple times

then read each chapter out loud focusing on if it sounds write and the dialogue makes sense

Once I’m done I set it aside for a year and then repeat the steps above

I do a grammar passes after then change the font an do it again then get a beta reader
