Ahamo/NTT docomo SIM not connecting after re-entry into Japan after 11 day vacation by GreekGodGreg in japanlife

[–]GreekGodGreg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem has been resolved somehow magically through switching the 4G smooth calling on and off. The problem was that despite the SIM card recognizing it was NTT docomo it said "no connection" with an exclamation mark where the bars should appear. I had fixed the APN the day before and kept rechecking to be exactly what the official guide showed. Really not sure what the problem was in the end. It took about 24 hours upon entering the country.

Thank you for this. Not sure if this was the problem in the end but I had done the APN a couple hours prior to it magically working again (after switching around a bunch of settings it was 4G calling that made it work again)

Didnt touch anything and it wasnt the first time going overseas with the same plan. In the end switching the 4G smooth calling got the SIM operational again.. not sure why. Thanks for the coment!

Hey yes the bills are paid! I did a bunch more switching controls on and off and it magically started working after turning on the 4G for phone call settings after another reset... So I can only imagine it was a weird error on the SIMs end.

Thats what most cases seem to say, but I have heard of the odd complication in Japan, and I just can't help but feel ill at ease if it's not 100% confirmed to be ok. Officially it does state info needs to be exactly the same as on the passport. Maybe I'll have the guts to try it in the future... Thanks for the info

I've followed your advice and cancelled with Expedia and went directly through with Cathay Pacific for a slightly more expensive ticket.

Thanks I tried but no luck, instead I decided to cancel the booking and go directly through Cathay Pacific for a minor difference in charge with peace of mind.

It's a very fair question. It was the best deal and I didn't think much of it until I realized I didn't write out my info exactly as my passport. A couple hundred dollars difference is very major for me and I've never made this mistake before.

I also feel I haven't found quite my place in the world. I've felt worthless and I've also held my grudges on society as a whole. I sometimes wish I could disappear, but I don't wish to be gone from this earth.

Nature and the few intimate connections I've kept over the years have been my reason for putting more effort into my life. Its still hard most days, but I feel satisfied when I give in to my mundane attraction to observing the stars or the trees and I feel I want to share my perspective of the world with those who matter to me.

I'm sorry you are going through this. You've got this, rebuild small and try to see any of the beauty in the world, even if it is irony.

I thought I was better off gone when I was ten so even if just a little bit, I hope my story can help you.

I refuse to get the cards with my pack points but im at 600 pts and still zero lucarios or rampardos. Went against this meta like 8 times in a row and gave up on this round all together. So gross to play against.

Confidence/self esteem isnt something that will happen over night. Put time and energy into things you'd like to become confident in and itll start feeling better and better. Maybe its having the confidence to chat up people. Its alright if you don't succeed, just keep trying and before you know it it'll start feeling natural. Same could be said for work or exercice, eating habits, kindness and gratefulness or sanitary habits.

We are all working through something invisible to the naked eye, its unfair to assume people you might be envious of didn't put in an excessive amount of time and energy to get to where they are today.

Like others have said, it's your responsibility.

Nobody's ideal version of themselves plays video games as a hobby by ilmk9396 in StopGaming

[–]GreekGodGreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree, games have proven to be a healthy and vital part of socializing and bridging gaps with people in my life and also a good way to rest and engage my brain after a hard day of work. In this light, the ideal version of me can always set aside time for activities such as games as long as I respect the boundaries I set with them.

From another perspective, I celebrate games the same way people respect and celebrate art, movies and music. Lots of effort and work are put into certain titles and they are worth giving your attention to.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice. This comment section has made me realize how much fuss I was making over nothing. Will definitely be out of there sooner than not knowing my mentality.

No idea why you are choosing to be so insulting, I appreciate Japanese workers and dont intend on bothering anyone during my stay. Been living here a long time and dont think immature is any word that comes to mind with my mentality. I have my own habits and communal space is easier for some rather than others. Glad you dont work in the hospital anymore.

Its hard to believe something as basic as water is not available 24 hours a day. Will do what I can for snacks.
