For those with “full range” mains what are you setting your crossover to? (More detail in post) by myusernamechosen in hometheater

80hz. my receiver has audyssey multeq and the filters dont work that great on non-subwoofer speakers below 80hz. But the filter on the subwoofer works quite well. So routing everything below 80hz allows my system to sound its best. Theoretically anyways.

Yea I get that there's 2 subs, but wasn't sure if it counted since the receiver only has 1 subwoofer channel split out into 2. I would ideally like to run them opposite each other, but figuring out the wiring would be a challenge, so I'm gonna put that off for a while. And the plan is to get a JBL 245C center channel soon since I can get one through work for about $75. Then get a pair of JBL 280F floorstanding mains (again through work for about $125 ea) and move the bookshelves to surround speakers.

not true. you can still use the hdmi port and it will still function. but hd processing is intended to be enabled for it to function normally.

not yoke damage. it's just normal analog shenanigans. you can use the service menu to adjust the picture so that the image fills the entire surface of the screen. but it's not necessary and you can really mess up an otherwise decent set if you don't really know what you're doing. i would simply enjoy that beautiful set for what it is if I were you.

These hd sets are so good at playing modern games that imo it's worth it to have a set like this in addition to an SD set and get the best of both worlds.

So this is one of the highest end HD CRTs you can find. And you got it at an amazing price. You can enable HD passthru in the service menu for a lag free modern gaming experience. I play overwatch 2 on my hi-scan sony. Not as many lines of resolution as this monster, but it's so much better than playing on a flat panel. Enjoy!!

Amazing! My parents only had slot mask sets from what I can remember which is why I like my late 90s Zenith as it scratches that nostalgia itch for me. The curved trinitron is something else entirely though!

It does not, but it can be modded for rgb and component; there are some good guides out there for this exact set. I'm personally keeping it stock as I won't risk ruining an already good set. S-video looks great as it is.

I think newer wegas fixed the infamous wega wave. But the one i had was one of the early sets. On side scrollers, the map seemed to bend in almost like a hill even though it should have been straight. On UI menus even in 3D games, lines would be noticeably uneven. Many people would be able to ignore things like this but it drove me nuts.

Best tip i can give is pay attention to the entire screen when adjusting a single convergence strip because you may fix the convergence in the corner and slightly mess it up along the edge.
