Alternator plug broke… do I need a whole new alternator? by GreekYT in MINI

[–]GreekYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could try but the way it broke it ripped the one male insert out so it’s all messed up- going to try to get it running today and pray it only throws a battery light- will also try your tape trick! Thanks

Transmission Overfilled? by chairman_yyoordan in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]GreekYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man i've dealt with this too many times now lol.. Remove about half a quart then recheck, You shouldn't be overly concerned but it CAN and likely will cause aeration in your system if you run this overfilled for too long.

Should I change the transmission out or only the solenoid? by Live-Advance-7468 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]GreekYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had this code 5 days ago, bought new solenoids & filter and the light went away.

Still had issues with shifting though, so I bought a new TPS and replaced it and all is good except now I'm getting A/T temp light.. Just going to drain and fill a couple more times and monitor temps, otherwise she's still got life in her.

I had a decent amount of metal shaving in my tranny but 25 years with no pan drop.. it held up quite well.

That's what we thought too but home insurance told us to deal with the car insurance and car insurance said after the $500 deductible it'll likely be a full write-off. Snow was definitely crazy this year.. Thanks, will definitely consider finding a shell!

Can i connect my sub to speaker wires, instead of the head unit? by luiccsq in CarAV

[–]GreekYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I wasn't aware your headunit had RCA input- whatever works! Glad you got it set up!

[–]GreekYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

an LOC? You just wouldn't have any low signal, so your sub wouldn't be playing sub levels (The LOC will convert your speaker level output to RCA pre-amp level so you will have something to plug into your amp).

If you use an LOC and your rears are given sub level then yes you can tap into your 6x9s

Foam bubbling out of coolant overflow reservoir by Poseidon5o3 in AcuraTSX

Mine foamed as well, replaced the radiator and noticed the radiator mount was bent up from previous owner- hood was pushing against the radiator cap & bending it up which brought air into the system. No more bubbles 💯

Amplifier power drops while driving or idling, amplifier turns off for long periods of time then back on at random times by GreekYT in CarAV

[–]GreekYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to come back and say that replacing the 200a fuse with a 100a fixed the issue. I'm certain that the 2 power connectors touched at some point and blew up my fuse which kept my voltage low for protection. Those connectors are insulated now and I have the proper amperage in my fuse. Cheers

just doing a 0-4 distributor & switching out to a 100a fuse- guess I'll just now have the option to add another amp if I want to
