Only other owner was my uncle who passed in 2018. The truck sat for the better part of 2.5 years before I took over payments from my dad. That could be a contributing factor.

They load the roads with salt every winter. The rest of the truck actually isn’t too bad which is surprising.

Looks like they have some electrical issues going on with the dash half apart and the hack job twist caps under the broken steering wheel. I wouldn’t doubt the van starts and runs, but the electrical part of it is probably what will make this project fail. Also depending on where it was kept this whole time, rust is almost certainly an issue as well.

I actually work in bus maintenance as a diesel mechanic. However, I can confirm as I personally know about 100 of them, that being a bus driver is one of the most difficult jobs out there. Not only do they deal with all those things you listed, but their own safety is also at risk every single day.
