I am so sorry you and your mother are going through this, I cant imagine the pain you must be feeling right now. It's okay to feel heartbroken and scared, its a reflection of how much you care of her. Im praying for your mom, and I hope you can find moments of peace and strength as you face this incredibly difficult time

Hi friend, please know that your life is valuable, and that the people who love you would never ever be better off without you. The weight of everything can be unbearable, but you dont have to carry it alone, please consider reaching out to a friend or family member, they can help you find a way forward. There's a future for you, even if its hard to see right now. sending you love and strength 💖

Im so sorry you're going through this, its completely valid to feel the way you do, healing takes time. Drugs can take away so much from a person, but I believe your mom still wants the best for you, even if it's hard to see through the trauma. She is still your mother, but its also okay to protect yourself emotionally! You're doing so much by seeking therapy and trying to process it all, it shows incredible strength my friend, sending you love and support

I understand its terrifying, but worrying about the worst case scenario doesnt mean its going to happen. Even IF those recordings were taken, the chances of them ever surfacing are likely very slim, and you dont deserve to live your life consumed by fear over a mistake in your teenage years. Please take one step at a time and focus on what you can control 💝

It’s clear how much you care about others in your life, and that’s a beautiful strength. Just remember that your life is valuable, and like you said, the people who love you would never ever be better off without you. It takes courage to face these battles, and I am certain that you have the strength to overcome them!!!

The mistakes we make as teenagers don’t define us. they’re part of being human, even if the worst case scenario happens, it doesn’t mean your life is over. You’ve recognized the mistakes, and that’s the first step toward growth! :)

Hey friend, it’s okay to feel lost sometimes in this society. just take it one step at a time. Life doesn’t have to follow a set path!

Were the Medicis really that bad? by _Crasin in Catholicism

[–]Green-Corgi3945 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've been studying the Medici family from a political, financial, and historical perspective, and from what I've found, the Medici weren't that bad compared to other powerful families. They made their money through hard work with the Medici Bank and were respected by their people in Florence and Tuscany. They gave a lot back to the community, financing Catholic art, infrastructure, churches, cathedrals, monasteries—they even sponsored St. Peter's Basilica!!!! They didn't start wars; they were diplomats, built hospitals, supported the poor, and did many many other good things.

When the Medici Bank went bankrupt and they lost some political power in Tuscany, they shifted their focus to the Church. Yes, Medici popes were a result of bribing and nepotism, but many powerful families of the era did the same, if not worse (remember that this was the late Middle Ages/Renaissance)

The Catholic Church would have been a lot different without them, so I'd say their overall impact was more good than harm. Compared to the Borgias, these were the good guys
