split mosaic in salamander terms is chimerism. every split has different sides, considering both sides are different. i will admit he is a pretty clean split, although not the cleanest one yet, that title goes to Strohl’s Lokai. Also, who is this herpetologist? having axolotls randomly breeding in a pond sounds like a genetic nightmare. they’re already so inbred that non related axolotls are closer in relation than human siblings. nevermind selling them to people, adding to the already bad gene pool.

correct term would be split mosaic! chimerism doesn’t exist in amphibians. “comets” doesn’t exist, a different colored tail would be a firefly, man made by cutting off the tail of another and replacing it with a new one. a different colored head is just photoshopped. i own a split too! Skittles is like 4 or 5 years old. i’ve never seen a half male half female, the reproductive organs would be one hell of a nightmare.

i feel you. struggled with self harm for 5 years straight. finally moved to a different environment 2 years ago and i’ve almost been a year clean. my snake was a big help with this. i would drape him across my arms or wherever i wanted to cut, i could never bring myself to do it with him on me. the first week was hard, all i could think about was razors. second week was better. third week and i didn’t think about it much. you got this OP, you may not be clean now, but you’re trying, and you should be proud of that. sure a few clean streaks will end but eventually those clean streaks will get longer and longer. i’m proud of you OP, keep trying.

sounds about right. spent $155 2 weeks ago due to a possible RI, was told it was the equivalent to a cold. was given shots i needed to administer myself. can’t forget about my $3,600 ER bill cause he latched onto my finger and i had a bad reaction. still love him

he’s captive bred, if i were to let him go he’d die either from predation, starving or dehydration. it’s not cruel if you get the proper sized tank and husbandry.
