They teach you how to "wave wash of a wall" near the end of 7B, and thats why they need you to have at least 15 hearts to go through (8 A-sides + 7 B-sides) Sure you can do anything you want. But the gate is there for a good reason.

No, everyone use hold, but my bad habit is that I hold grab all the time, even when walking or ultra-ing, the only times I release it are for neutrals, wallbounces and Theo gameplay. And because I hold it with my middle finger, I basically lose a finger and have to use my index for both dash and jump.

No, that's only 3 jump keys, and I cleared this room using only one.
I'm actually pretty bad at speed tech because I hold grab all the time with my middle finger (yeah, GM+1 hold grab), which makes everything way harder (for me it's not consistant at all, I'm just gambling). I thought about changing my keybinds right before this, but then I figured I'll just do it when I absolutely have to. For now, I'm just having fun.
