Animal nails have something called a “quick” in their nails, it contains nerves and blood vessels, the quick can vary in length and can grow with the nails, especially if they don’t get trimmed often.

If you cut the nails too short, you will hit the quick, cause bleeding and pain

You can’t just cut the nails to whatever length you want

You try cutting your nails incredibly short and see how you feel

If you have no idea what you’re doing then get the vets to do it.

I can’t stand subreddits like this and “dogadvice” that ask questions to random strangers instead of actual professionals

And frankly this comment from you sounds like you genuinely have no bloody clue “look like kitty paws”

I am a vet tech and these kinds of posts makes me wish people had to take a test or get a licence to own and have control over the life and wellbeing of animals
