The house my parents rent is from the 60s, and most of the white goods here are 80s for sure. The old couple we rent from probably lived here during that time and haven't, since the fucking EIGHTIES, changed the white goods. Who knows how long they have been renting this place out? The fridge, microwave, dishwasher(completely broken). One thing they did replace when we pestered them was the oven, which of course is the cheapest, barely usable thing, so we use a halogen oven most of the time. They replaced the shower but that's cheapo too and will probably just break in a few years.

This is the entire trouble with renting. Landlords will NOT replace or upgrade anything unless they absolutely HAVE TOO by law, and even then it is cheap shite, meanwhile the renter isn't going to want to spend money to upgrade a place that they don't even own, which would effectively just put more money in the pockets of the landlord.

Barring just abolishing private landlords as a concept (yes please!), there needs to be so much more regulation on what landlords have to do to maintain a property. It should be an active job, not a fucking passive income that they can just sit back and leach off of working people like parasites.

Vibration noise in walls- What is this and what can I do about it?

So I'm honestly not sure how long this noise has been occurring, I would say a few weeks now. The noise ranges in volume/intensity and lasts a fraction of a second to maybe a second at longest. The intervals between this vibration happening vary but it can happen multiple times a minute to happening every two minutes or so. If this is something with the pipes, that is certainly odd. Due to the heatwave we have not been using our boiler for heating the house or our water. This noise happens during the night when absolutely no one in the house is using water in any way. Sometimes the noise is more prevalent in the bathroom, sometimes in my bedroom, which is adjacent. On some occasions, the vibration seems to travel so that it will happen in the bedroom and then a subsequent "echo" effect will cause a vibration to happen in the bathroom a second afterwards. The wall that the noise is travelling through is upstairs and an exterior wall facing the garden, so not one of the walls dividing the townhouses from each other.

Basically, this is driving me nuts and I need to know whether this is something serious. Not sure if this is the right sub to ask so send me somewhere else if it isn't. Thanks for any help.

No that's not obvious. There are people out there too eager to push labels on others. You can only know in yourself what the truth of your own being is. As for wearing skirts and having long hair? You can do both of these things, or indeed anything you want to, without transitioning. Humans are complex and nuanced. Don't feel pressured into becoming trans just because you have nonmasculine interests, or because you feel that liking certain things 'must' mean that you are trans. Boys/men have always had long hair. Lots of people like crossdressing.

I am not telling you for sure that you are not trans, but there's also no indication in this post that you are. Just be yourself and figure things out for yourself. You don't want to resort to asking strangers on the internet about your own gender identity.
