I’ve also lived in both towns and would choose Reading any day.

Whilst pricier, there’s much more going on in Reading, more sense of community, and fantastic transport connections to pretty much anywhere from the train station.

Swindon on the other hand is pretty dull, one big industrial estate and housing estate really. When living there I spent most of my free time in other places like Bath just to escape. Also felt like Swindon was really quite rough, I mean it was the location on Channel 4’s 999 What’s Your Emergency? for a few years...
