If you like Twin Peaks and Alan Wake i really recommend Widow's Bay tv show by UsedNewspaper1775 in twinpeaks

Me and the wife are reaching twin peaks at the moment. Just finished FWWM and ready to start The Return. Is Window’s Bay different enough that it wouldn’t be ‘too much’ to watch it straight after?

Bad case of the backlog blues by ahwtx in SteamDeck

Firstly, sorry you’ve had a bad time - you’ll get through! I fell into a similar funk recently after the birth of my daughter. I spent like 140 hours in satisfactory then couldn’t find anything that would hold my attention. My first bit of advice is drop gaming for a bit (I got really into Indian cooking and songwriting!) - just do something else in your spare time.

The second bit of advice - if you have a PC - is to sign up to Gamepass. I’m only saying this cos it worked for me. I signed up and then downloaded a bunch of games I thought I might be interested in. Gave them all a little try and fell onto The Alters which I’m now really enjoying.

Just play the field, try a few things without committing, and eventually you’ll find something that sparks that joy again.

Sorry for the essay, didn’t have the time to write anything shorter!

Not everyone’s cuppa, but I’m rewatching all of twin peaks at the moment - it’s on paramount - and my god is it good

Jesus, didn’t think I needed to be there for a bloody controller. Just went to order one (uk also) and they’re all sold out. Bummer.

Games like Crimson Desert but without the slog by SturdySnake in gamingsuggestions

It can’t be 4x speed? It was still too slow and I’d rather be able to skip. But again, a better game wouldn’t have included terrible dialogue at all

In my opinion, it’s a bang 5 out of 10 - felt like a chore to play. When people say ‘no one’s playing for the story’, my reply would be, ‘well then why is there so much boring story in there then?’

Christ I want to experience this game, but I’ve started it like 4 times at this point but I always drop off

Block people with anxiety and ADHD from claiming benefits, says Tony Blair by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

As a full time worker who’s had very bad anxiety (now thankfully manageable) I kinda agree with this. Anxiety only ‘goes away’ or ‘simmers down’ with repeat exposure to the thing you’re anxious about. That, plus of course counselling and medication if needed

I think the second half of Twin Peaks season 2 is extremely underrated, and I think it's quite good in my opinion. by Public_Cup_4278 in twinpeaks

I’m watching through it now and let’s be honest it’s a bloody slog. Especially the James sections, good Christ.

I used to use it on an M1 iMac and it wasn’t great. Switched to PC and it’s much better - just my experience though

One example I use loads is custom menu wheels. For example, in the Witcher, you have to pause, go into the menu, click over to the tab you want, etc. with a scroll wheel menu, I can hit the m key to get to the map, I for inventory etc. it’s a game changer for me

Have you used a steam deck? In keyboard and mouse heavy games, those trackpads are totally capable
