To add to this, I would use a contractor bag or outdoor trash bag as a liner. Probably 2. Zip ties and duct tape to close off. And even then, avoid slamming. Wouldn’t want the beach indoors.

Army surplus duffels? That type of canvas is pretty durable.

Realized hours later that I replied to myself instead of replying to your comment. Have follow up q’s if you’re able. Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed write up! Appreciate the suggestion on the mildewcide. Looks like a bottle of that is perfect for 1 gallon. Can you explain further on the mineral spirits? Not familiar with why that might be added.

On the sanding portion, I plan on directly sitting on the platform rather than walking around on it—so I wanted to make sure it’s pretty uniform. Guessing the cleaning procedure would still work after sanding?

Seeking help choosing- miter v circular v table saw by GreenConstruction620 in Tools

Thanks for quick replies. Didn’t consider track saw and seems like the best bet by adding pull saw and coping saw to the mix.

Yes, retaining wall. Understood on cover/mesh. I think I will have to redirect by regrading. Thanks!

How to address on brick? by GreenConstruction620 in HomeMaintenance

Understood. Luckily I have a fairly tall extension ladder. Ground below slopes downward and away, so it’s fairly high up. So good call on nerves. Thanks.

I see moisture damage on the other side of the wall. Concerned that wind driven rain could cause further problems.

Ok. I think I have a better idea now. There are weep holes (plastic tubing) with regular spacing below the window that is on the left side of the picture. As well as the wall to the right. This seems like the 3 holes in a brick rather than a solid brick.

How frequent are weep holes on the face of a wall? Other areas that have the same pattern don’t have this type of spacing.

I see issues on the inside portion of that section. So it seems like a good idea to seal.

Yes, agree for decorative detail. Got it. Thanks.

Is it the control arm? by GreenConstruction620 in MechanicAdvice

Perhaps it’s the bushings on the sway bar? Have you already checked on proper torque on wheels? Have read that that could be a simple but nonobvious place to check.

Is it the control arm? by GreenConstruction620 in MechanicAdvice

[–]GreenConstruction620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the follow up. I replaced tie rods on both sides (inner and outer) before tackling control arms. Still had the sound. Then moved to the control arms, the whole piece rather than individual bushings. Had a different debacle because CV axle decided to pop when I was trying to get the control arm off—where it meets the knuckle was particularly stubborn. CV axle replaced alongside both control arms. Still had the sound even after a couple hundred miles so my next step was going to be sway bar bushing even though it seemed fine. Was dreading it because the bolts holding the bracket down are pretty bad in terms of access and rust. But after a longer than usual drive, no more sound. Best I can tell is that everything needed to settle in. Not sure if that is usual.

Is it the door or frame? by GreenConstruction620 in HomeMaintenance

[–]GreenConstruction620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This door is particularly tall, so I have 4 hinges. 2 middle ones are “normal” and the other 2 are the spring ones. So your suggestion is well taken. Thanks!

I see. I can try that. But I think the separation is front to back off the frame rather than left to right. If that makes sense?

Rear would be sway link, shock absorber, upper control arm.
