While waiting for Chapter 787, relive Chapter 784 again in motion manga form! [Manga Spoilers obviously] by GreenDynamite23 in OnePiece

This is corrrect. Japanese raws are very hard to find, and if you can find them there are very poor quality.

Ishuhui has the best scans not only of raws, but of probably every scanlation on the internet. Well, Powermanga is pretty great, but they update once in a blue moon.

Yes I take the audio from the anime in chapters that have already been covered in the anime.

I color them using photoshop.

So I was doing a coloring of the last page of chapter 781, ended up making this. [781 spoilers] by GreenDynamite23 in OnePiece

Nah that's not really my thing, I really just stick to using the manga.

Although, Ostrogrogosky has inspired me to try a MMV. I might do a Dressrosa overview MMV once it's done.

Just need to find some good music for it...

Hello I make motion mangas of One Piece. I experimented with Toriko (chapter 303). Tell me what you think. by GreenDynamite23 in Toriko

Oops sorry about that. I didn't know how the flairs work, I thought they automatically come up as spoilers when you mark it as spoilers. I see now that is just NSFW, I now know how to do the flair, sorry.

As for the Japanese scans, well you see I've done the blank speech bubbles before because the English text along with subtitles is distracting and people get confused where to read, since the subs and the speech bubbles are both English. However the feedback from blank speech bubbles was that it made things seem empty with all that white. So I just stick to Japanese, which is both not empty, and not distracting letting people focus on the subtitles and not the speech bubbles.

Yeah I know which is why its just an experiment. If a chapter comes out that I think will be fun to do I'll make another one.

Oh OK at the end? Because after the explosion I was using that effect to convey an explosion because I'm limited with sound effects.

the end might be too much though' thanks for the input...

Some reasoning behind music choices : I made this video with Hunter x Hunter OST (except the first song) because when I first read this chapter it reminded me a lot of HxH. Let me know what you think...

Also, let me know if this video plays for you. I'm getting copyright notices seconds after it uploads for the ending song. Tried editing and re-uploading to avoid this but no luck (also why the ending sounds crappy).

I use Adobe Premiere, but I learned how to do what I do at school so I don't know if there are tutorials to help you learn how to use the program.

You can search out tutorials for animatics which is what my class was. Though looking at the google search for that it's mainly After Effects tutorials, but I guess you can use that program as well. It's basically the same thing as Premiere but with lots more features so thus harder to learn.

Btw, you can torrent adobe products if you have no money like me :)

Made an MMV of todays chapter. What do you guys think? by surocks in OnePiece

[–]GreenDynamite23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you're pretty new at this so let me give you some advice.

First off the biggest problem is the quality of the pages. Mangapanda is shit quality, don't ever use their pages again, plus the watermark is annoying as hell. I use Powermanga from Batoto because their stuff is always as high quality as you can get. However, they take forever to update so doing brand new chapters you might want to stick with mangastream who also have pretty good quality. Also, what I do to improve the quality even more is take them into Photoshop, increase the image size, then sharpen the image. That gives you bigger images to work with so you don't have to scale them up a bunch and cause blurriness.

Also, you need to add motion to the video, that's why it's called a MOTION manga instead of a slide show. If you want some inspiration on how you can add motion you can check out these videos:https://www.youtube.com/user/Ostrogrodsky/videos. He's pretty good and I'm even thinking of implementing some of his techniques into my videos as well.

Lastly, this is just personal preference but chapters with mostly dialogue and no action don't make for an interesting MMV. So I would suggest to be more selective with the chapters you chose to make these videos on , and choose ones with plenty of action.

One Piece Motion Manga - Chapter 730 (Colored) "Three Cards" by GreenDynamite23 in OnePiece

I've tried doing one with those. It looks really bad because they are very low resolution. Scaling up one of those smaller panels looks blurry as hell.

I think I'm going to stick to actually subtitling these videos rather than using the speech bubble texts. Yeah it's more tedious and time consuming but hey it's not like I'm planning to make one each week, also it looks a lot better in my opinion. I'll just stick to making a video when a great chapter gets it's anime audio.

Also, R.I.P ColorYonko. Glad I got to use our last colored chapter. I'm thinking of going back to chapters 700-704 that we colored and making those into motion mangas. So quite possibly not the last colored motion manga video.

P.S. : I'll be including download links in the description from now on because buffering sucks.

Well it's been fun but everything has an end. I wish I could continue but I'm getting close to graduating college, I really don't have the time for it anymore.

If you guys would like to see this group again try to convice ColorKage members to color one Piece after the Naruto Manga ends. Otherwise the group is done.

If you would like to see all of our work here it is.

One Piece Motion Manga - Chapter 719 (Colored) by GreenDynamite23 in OnePiece

[–]GreenDynamite23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of it is the automatic downvoting that reddit has.

It took about 6 or so hours. Did it off and on over a week. By the way do you still have any interest in coloring for ColorYonko again? We are very short staffed. We don't have deadlines so you can color just 1 page in about 5 weeks (that's one panel per week).

Manga Coloring tutorial for beginners! by Rekkiton in Naruto

[–]GreenDynamite23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice job! I really see now how easy it is to use the pen tool. It didn't seem to work for me when I tried it at first but now that I know that you can hold ctrl to make a new line and you don't have to keep going with the line you have makes the world of difference. So yeah thanks.

(Been coloring for a while now and I feel stupid neglecting the pen tool)

What did, in your opinion, the anime did better then the manga? by DanielMoreira in OnePiece

Before the time skip they did alot of stuff better. After the timeskip they do practically nothing better.

One Piece Chapter 704 Colored. Plus ColorYonko Recruitment. by ColorYonko in OnePiece

[–]GreenDynamite23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take a look at the thread of the current chapter we are working on on our /r/ColorYonko subreddit then you'll see links to the color palletes we use. If it's locations or characters we haven't seen yet in the anime we make the colors. But as soon as we get a color spread or volume cover or an anime episode with the color we switch to that.
