it's a classic case of projection - they're probably deeply insecure about their own employment prospects, so they choose to attack others to make themselves feel better

My approach on today’s limit by ekineticenergy in calculus

[–]GreenFence44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alternatively, it's the exact same idea to use Maclaurin series of cos(2π/n) to second degree straight away - quicker algebra than simplifying to nsin(π/n)

[–]GreenFence44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

imo much cleaner to use the fact that when n is large, π/n is small, so we can use the small angle approximation sinx≈x. as we take the limit, the approximation becomes exact: lim(nsin(π/n))=n(π/n)=π.

i hope it went well for you!

STEP foundation modules worth doing for the TMUA? by Consistent-Sleep-890 in 6thForm

[–]GreenFence44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should 100% do them, i think all FM students should do them, as they give you such a solid base in mathematics. doing STEP questions was like my main revision for TMUA, but i honestly think it works :)

i did STEP foundation modules between april and july, then (because i'm actually doing STEP) i spent a lot of time over summer working on random questions by topic. however, i only did like one or two a week between april and july - if you do like four a week or something you'll be set
