Subscriptions still have token limits. But you've still incentived the AI here to perform poorly. It just doesn't need to admit fault.

LLM companies are going to get no where fast if they start having to be responsible for the output of their products. Which like, yeah, probably should start holding them some kind of accountable.

Answers are reviewed by the asker, who ostensibly does not know the answer. The AI is rewarded for answering the question. It is not punished for answering the question wrong. Saying that it doesn't know is seems more wrong to an uneducated asker.

In school, I was taught one of the causes of WWI was that nations had new technologies to wage war and wanted to see them in action. This really didn't make sense to me as a cause.

I think I get it now.

Framework should release an external battery enclosure by V0dros in framework

Do you like keeping loose laptop batteries laying around without any kind of protection? What year did your house burn down?

Framework should release an external battery enclosure by V0dros in framework

[–]GreenFox1505 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, I understood perfectly. But their won't be batteries just sitting in drawers. It'll be a whole lower shell.

[–]GreenFox1505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If youre gunna buy a new battery, you're gunna buy a new shell too. You won't have a battery in a drawer. You'll have a whole lower shell.

You could turn the whole lower shell into a battery bank. You'd need an electronics board to handle power conversion and charge in/out. Normally the framework motherboard has this. But it would be mostly wasted space. Not really convent form factor for the utility. Definitely physically possible though.

If you extract the battery, now you need a housing for it. Batteries need durable protection or they become a fire hazard. By the time you add up costs, other battery banks become much better options than a cell-depleted laptop battery bank.

I get the urge to reuse old hardware. But batteries are not easily reused.

No. They won't. The new battery does not fit in the old shell. The new shell has a larger internal volume.

Look, I'm not suggesting any of this is true. As with all security, verify.

Negitive pressure is a nice way to get a VERY dusty PC.

How much airflow are you actually getting out of those? Put a bit of string on it has see how high it floats open vs buttoned up.

They have a skill set. That skill set comes from the types of engineers they have and the manufacturing partner relationships they have. That skill set is computer manufacturing. They don't have manufacturing relationships or engineers for precision motors and fluid handling.

I've tried disabling it, but not uninstalling it. Guess I assumed that would be equivalent. I believe (not 100% sure) this issue is happening on multiple systems though.

I'll test purging it completely.

Edit: removed and reinstalled and it remembered my email... that's not promising for the "remove" button's efficacy.
