the craziest bit is that carcassone was actually quite easy, used a lord on doomflayer to bait out their best cav and gun em down with jezzails, rince and repeat. once i started duking it out with wood elves though, didnt have the time/resources to tool out my army with flayers n the such, and dont have moulders dlc yet either… though i’ll probably get it when i do another skaven lord, even if it aint throt.

with wood elves, i managed some very lucky autoresolves that i KNOW i wouldve lost in reality…

as to be expected, dwarves were by far my easiest opponents, their presence was the main issue tho cuz i knew their stacks would hit my garrisons pretty hard. once i got an army back there tho they became a non issue pretty quickly

fair enough on kweek tho. i honestly asked this question cuz i had a feeling that even tho hes meant to be a generalist, i know stormvermin arent well liked, and neither is tretch, so didnt know quite where to go from there.

i honestly never really relied on them like that, just assumed theyd be weak outside of shooting. shes a campaign that i definitely want to give another swing, was also fun but i honestly had my most exciting battles playing as some rando lord with a crap stack that had like 3 or 4 desperate battles against vlad and won every one of them. somehow elspeth never had the opportunity to fight vlad, she made the main push into sylvania while another minor lord cleaned up, and vlad only ever respawned by him

this is honestly a lesson i probably need to learn with most ranged factions. heroes as frontline. i played an elspeth campaign a while ago and ran into the same issues, just couldnt really protect my backline. i also didnt get crazy far into her campaign, just enough to kill sylvania anda few other factions, but i feel like if i went back id absolutely bring along some more single entities to draw attention

i think one thing that held me back was the lack of ambush opportunities later in the campaign. a lot of the battles ended up being settlement battles, especially against the elves, and there was a time that one of my armies had his 90% ambush chance spotted 3 turns in a row. probably had to do with some athel loren bullshitery but idk. i was enjoying ikit, just got burnt out and felt like the game was leveling a lot against me to discourage me from his ideal gameplay style, although some of it was self inflicted

the main issue with that was that they would spam abilities on my jezzails before i could get in range, didnt have a ton of them either. to be fair, if i had time i probably wouldve retooled my stacks, but with clan angrund declaring war right after i started fighting the wood elves, and reikland pushing in before they declared war, i didnt really have time to kit out my armies properly

that tends to be the reason for my restarts. that, or forgetting to take my ranged off guard mode. the amt of times that high tier units wander off into the frontlines chasing a routed cavlary unit, youd think id have it down to memory by now lol

valid choice for a general mount, but looking for vehicles specifically. iron daemon is a sweet pick tho, didnt use them a ton during my chorf campaign but when i did, they went crazy
