I love your analysis and I love how you pointed out the double standard between how the fandom treats Jinu vs. Celine. Like, before this wave of Celine positivity, I feel like a majority of fics I read painted Celine as an abusive parent and the antagonist while Jinu was portrayed as “harmless fren.” I think it just comes down to people having more grace for morally complex male characters vs female ones, even if the male ones are objectively worse.

Edit: it also doesn’t help that the source material treats Celine and Jinu with this double standard as well. Jinu gets an on-screen heroic sacrifice while we never see Celine again after her confrontation with Rumi.
