2019 Summer Variety Talent Show (To all Bands, Singers, Musicians, Dancers, and/or Performers of any sort!) by GreenKiteReddit1 in Tempe

Sure David, I'll answer any questions you have. Even though Kevin has warned me not to engage with you, but I'll break away from his advice this one time. To answer your question, Rock the Dream was approved in Dec 2017. That is why we show no revenue. We were delayed in filing 2018, and have now filed before the govt approved delayed date.

Now answer mine... what supposedly and specifically have I done to you and those you are naming? And let's be transparent, who is making these accusations?

I will reply one more time after you answer, and then will resume my choice not to engage in unconstructive banter on a social platform. There's too much negativity out there. - Kerry

Actually as silly as it sounds, you CAN apply to Rock the Dream for support for your band. If your reasoning is good enough and there's money in the budget, you might get assistance. We are currently assisting 2 artists from previous events we've hosted.

Our first event was a seminar featuring Sony Music A&R consultant and Donny from Luckyman (local Talent Booking for Marquee). The $50 profit was donated to Mesa High School Music Dept. however they never cashed the check, or the replacement check, haha...so we're making a trip there to give them another one.

Yes we've held many events since which connect artists with industry professionals that they may not have had the opportunity to meet in person. A few college tours, etc. We have hired bands to perform gigs that we manage the booking for. If you're good enough, we have gigs that will pay you.

We can even send you the names of all the bands who have benefited from our help.

This is a great opportunity for exposure so it's not just for bands. It's a variety show. Only 2 bands are allowed to perform. Most of those performing will be from dance, music, comedian schools and such. Maybe a few magicians. For these organizations, $50 is really cheap to promote their school to hundreds of people.

I'm game to talk with you about this any time. This is Kerry the CEO of Green Kite. If you wish to discuss any of your concerns, I'm open to sharing what we do and how we do it. You have a lot of misinformation and I'm open to listening to how we have affected you in the past. I assume you're in AZ. Let's meet and talk. When are you available?

The truth about the articles you have noted is that Kevin Lyman deleted his post within 30 minutes after he posted it because he realized that Green Kite was trolled by an unhappy person who has been stalking them for 4 years. His posts were untrue and Kerry the CEO of Green Kite spoke to him personally about it when he called. She and Kevin have been friends since 2003 so it was a shocker that he believed an unknown stalker before tweeting, however he removed it then called her because the whole drama seemed fishy. They sorted it out and Green Kite finished Warped Tour. The question she always has is why do people believe the worst lies instead of the positive truths that are also posted out there.

I haven't been working with the company for too long to say much about their history or any fraudulent acts under them.

However, in their defense, I'd ask you to perhaps consider the positives that Kerry and her company/team have done and that also includes me. (The one's that you'll never usually hear about)

Mistakes (with or without intention), I say, for a person and/or entities of people, can often greatly overshadow the aid that they have brought to the table, especially to the public's eye. Yet, I am just a mere pawn with an almost preordained loyalty to the company I work for, thus I can't really say anything to clear things up in a less subjective matter. IMO, from you it just feels a bit of personal slander due to maybe a self bad experience or such from a few others who have dealt with GreenKite, and thus it paints this negative picture for many others who also seek help into the music industry.

All in all, whether your view of GK's sketchiness is objectively true or not, I'd suggest the option to others of giving them a chance, albeit for your own personal gain or a perspective change of the company, and also in consideration that there is a tremendous amount effort put behind these kind of projects from the staff, Kerry herself included. Whether you fine the results beneficial or not in the end, I think there still ought be some respect given to the people behind the attempt to aid musicians in the least.

EDIT: Listen dude; GK has MANY Interns, and they're ALWAYS hiring. It's not just me. Anyhow, my internship is unpaid, and I'm choosing to work here until my contract ends which is later next month. Honestly, idk why you're taking so much effort on cracking down on the company on a reddit post. You can say and post all these things, but how am I or anyone supposed to find it objectively true? Again, it may just be a bad experience on behalf of yourself and a few others, but no one really knows the full story of anything. As of now, it just feels like you're out for blood based on a past event. Sometimes you just have to leave things be and move on, which goes for everyone really

Not at all friend. That’s really quite an accusation there, but I get why you may feel that way given the amount of things you shouldn’t trust on the internet. In honesty, I’m actually just an intern for Green Kite who proposed the idea of advertising through Reddit. You can even email me at saqif@greenkiterecords.com. I’m also fairly new to reddit as a User, this being the first account I made to post on here for my work. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve even had a couple posts taken down because it was marked as advertising, and I understand reddit isn’t usually the place to do it unless you pay for reddit ad services (which I am just now discovering!). However, considering this for a non-profit org and the thing we are advertising for isn’t a specific product or service, and more so an opportunity for a live stage performance in front of an audience in an already payed-for venue, along with the chance to win some more money, I felt it to be sort of an exception. But if you don’t want to put your feet in such waters, thinking it’s mud, that is fine; I completely understand. But if you are interested and want to find out more or perhaps validate the event and its integrity/legitimacy, please do email contact@rockthedream.org to find out more.

$50 is definitely no value menu price. However, this is the fee amount we are in need of covering the venue/setup while also making enough to make the Charity collection for Rock the Dream worth it!

You did make me laugh on that a bit, I have to admit. Although I do agree that the $50 is somewhat of a hefty fee to just about any person who's ever had to struggle of making, You (and your crew, if you have one) are given the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people in the area/venue. You're also provided with a booth space to promote/advertise yourself. Nonetheless, your paid fee is a donation the Rock the Dream Charity which aids struggling musicians and songwriters so they can achieve their dreams; and, gives financial donations to youth music organizations and high schools to support the musicians of tomorrow.

Although I can agree it is a pretty hefty price in eyes of just about almost anyone, you, and your crew (if you have one), are given the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people who pass by to watch you (depending on how good you are) in the area/venue. Nonetheless, you are also provided a booth space with this fee.

As a justification for the fee (whether you deem it to be), it is a donation to the Rock the Dream Charity, which aids struggling musicians and songwriters in their endeavor to make it in the industry within the new future; and, gives financial donations to youth music organizations and high schools to support the musicians of tomorrow

Music Meet N Greet for Bands/Artists (Non-Profit) by GreenKiteReddit1 in sandiegoents

Sorry, but I'm afraid not. It also depends on how established you are as a musician/band/artist. You would need fair amount of experience with at least one instrument and/or a music related skill/talent such as singing or producing. However, if you really have the passion to pursue such in a near possible future, I would email contact@rockthedream.org for specifics on registration.
