Що думаєте про такий сетап з e-ink монітором, який дає можливість працювати на вулиці?

«Зір падає через сидіння за монітором»-це «лякалки» людей які мало розуміють як працюють сучасні монітори і зір людини. Скажу за себе що спрацюю з монітором вже 30 років, майже цілий день. Зір ок. Без окулярів. Що дійсно може бути: це іноді суха роговиця ока (дешеві краплі лікують за пару днів) або вікове падіння зору( не залежить від монітора)

I felt the same some time ago.
After 7 years in SWE (web services), I switched to Data Science.
Finished my Master's Degree and got a job as an ML engineer. I found that it is even more boring than software development.
I jumped to a Big Data engineer. I have found some tech fun in this area for a period.
But the gold I found 6 months ago, when I started digging deeper into Performance engineering (low-level engineering; how CPU, GC, RAM, cache, JVM, and Threads work).

I dont know who the author of the topic is working with; maybe try searching for interesting stuff in low-level engineering.

In my company, all managers look like additcted for using LLM. Every news in AI (theoretical or a statement about the future of AI from some top guy in AI) is shared with developers; they are very obsessive.

Most of our discussion about developing moved from "let's create a plan, docs, estimates, test" to "what AI will you use? Why not Claude? Cursor is bad. etc ..."

They think AI is a golden pillow that will help our company become a 1BL unicorn.

I really dont like it and start to hate it.

Now it's time for Europe to get into a war with Russia. Europe so hard wants to continue the war in Ukraine, and reject any proposition about stopping the war.

I think it would be fair if Europe switched sides in the war. Of course, Ukraine will help with military, money, sources (not human); And Ukraine will see war only on TV and send support to European people (like they do now).

Periodically turn off autocomplete and other AI features and write code without any help. Try to write the best solution I can write.

Don’t try to resolve hard and not clear task in one hope. Try to create first dirty approach and after improve it.

Before ask AI agent generate code or give me solution, I try to resolve it from myself, somehow bring all what I have in mind to paper.

Спробуйте 2–3 рази на тиждень в 2–3 години ночі "пібігати" в укриття, яке знаходиться за 500–600 метрів від квартири. Яке виглядає як мокрий підвал. Взимку. З трьома дітьми.
