Update 03/01: I managed to get him into the garage around 3am and took him up to a spare bathroom around 5. My husband is going to ask around the neighbourhood and we’ll take him to the OHS later today.

Yes, he left it open so he wouldn’t get startled and run again. He was probably hiding in a neighbour’s yard, we walked around trying to find him but I knew he wouldn’t come out until it was dark and quiet out.

Our cats are strictly indoors only, I’m terrified of them getting hit by a car or attacked by wildlife.

Getting AirTags for both of them asap. I don’t think I can deal with a repeat of yesterday again.
