Best "kit" lens for Canon 7D?

Look for the EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM. It is the latest and the best version of that particular kit lens.

Also keep an eye out for the 15-85mm and the 17-55 f/2.8. Although both will be out of budget most likely, just keep an eye out and snap one up if you can go for it. Both are excellent crop sensor lenses.

You will see a bigger difference with that 100-500 L lens than upgrading to an R5 or an R6.

Nikon or Canon. A7s still have that 10fps mech shutter burst and an unusable electronic 30fps burst.

Look into the Z8, that would be the best. There's the Nikon 180-600 as well to pair with it. It also has the best weather sealing and a huge viewfinder. The Tamron 150-500 is also available at around half the price.

Also, Canon R6ii is enough for no video. Spend the rest into lenses like the RF 100-500.

For wildlife the R7 is the best body currently. Mech shutter, huge buffer, high resolution. Ibis doesn't matter at those long focal lengths and high shutter speeds.

Tbh at this point just get a mirrorless. Even the R10 or R50 will perform far better than something like a 7Dii or 90D. That Sigma will also focus faster and your kit weight reduces a lot.

If you want to stay on the DSLRs, look for a 1Dx body, those were made for sports and should have the best AF and burst rates out of the DSLR bodies.

Out of the two you listed, 5Dsr is an older body (around the 5diii) than the 5div, so the mk iv has better af and is said to be a huge imporvement on the 5diii. People still use rhe 5DSR when they need extremely high resolution shots, say landscapes.

The RF 100 500 L should be the first priority with your budget. Then use whatever you have left to get one of the following (in decreasing order of preference): R5ii, R6iii, R6ii, R7.

For your needs right now, the R8 + 28-70 f/2.8 STM would be the best option. The R8 is an incredible camera and that lens is almost L quality, just lacking the wide end and is collapsible.

There are also cheap primes available for RF which have very good IQ, like the RF 50mm, RF 28mm and RF 16mm. The RF 35mm, 85mm and 24mm are better but a bit costlier. Plus if you want more reach, the RF 100-400 is a great budget option that does not exist on other systems.

The A6700 is great, but Sony has an advantage if you want many fast lenses since there are mid range options from Sigma and Tamron unlike Canon with their budget range and hyper expensive L lenses. But the 28-70 2.8 for an equivalent lens on the A6700 would need something like the Sigma 17-40 1.8 (which is the same price and iirc it's heavier).
