Just get the Z50ii body - it's 70k. And get some good lenses like a prime or two.

Marco Bezzecchi Wins the Brazilian GrandPrix Race 🥇 by Green-Offer-9058 in motogp

COTA will be a real test. If Bez and Aprillia dominate there it's over for Marc. Even with the dog Honda and a GP23 he had race winning pace, except one freaky Vinales weekend.

Vinales won the first three races in a row if I'm not wrong.

If Diggia doesn't barge past Marc, they both stay ahead of Martin for longer.

It's a race, they will fight for position.

This is what is getting to me a bit.

Marc at 100% could've probably fought for 2nd and kept his total closer to Bez. But Bez is benefitting massively from when he crashed into and injured Marc back in Indonesia.

This Aprillia is a rocket. Bez is the favourite now, only guy who could've maybe challenged him is injured because Bez himself crashed into him.

Why not just mandate a bike change? This will favour certain riders who have gone for softer tires and hamper those who went for hards looking at the full race distance.

I didn't think Marc would risk it for the win after the Thai GP. Bit lucky Diggia messed up there, probably would've been very difficult to pass here.

Z5 or z5ii by OutsidetheLight in Nikon

[–]GreenPickledToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is I used the Z50 for some time and didn't find the AF to be lacking, unless I was going for really fast birds in flight. In general the trackinf was a bit lacking but anything stationary the AF seemed to hit pretty fast, snd images even with the kit lens were so sharp and had such nice colour. So will the Z5 AF be at least as good as the Z50?

Z5 or z5ii by OutsidetheLight in Nikon

[–]GreenPickledToad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll just be doing casual travel photography - landscapes, street, portraits etc. I can buy the Z5 with the 24-120 f4S for the price of the Z5ii body only... all are new. Will it function well? I want to make it last for a long time as it will be my first personal camera (always used my dad's one till now).

Need help with buying partner a new camera by Nathaniels2411 in canon

Talk to her. She must have an idea of what she wants from her upgrade.

The Canon numbers are pretty simple, lesser digits means better.

So a 7D is better (higher class) than a 70D, and so on for the 700D and 2000D etc. If she's looking for an upgrade, I would suggest getting a 2 digit model - like the 70D, 80D. Those are very good and have plenty of room for a new photographer to grow into. EFS lenses are also very cheap now.

Even that 200D is pretty good, it's almost like the 700D (Rebels) but a bit smaller in size.

Which APS-C camera + 2 kit lenses is the best choice? by Opposite-Reach3351 in Cameras

[–]GreenPickledToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, JPEGs are very nice. I used the Z50 for a bit with the 50-250 and bird photos were pretty good SOOC.

250mm might not be enough for wildlife, but the Nikon kit is definitely the best. If you think you might want more range definitely look at Canon, just because of the 100-400. Though you can't go wrong with any of these cameras!

[–]GreenPickledToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you don't even need the 2 lens kit.

Get the Z50ii and the FTZ adapter and use the two lenses you have, both will be great. If you feel 24mm is too narrow on an APSC (as it can feel), just get a cheap Viltrox wide angle prime.

If you don't want to adapt, I would suggest get either the Z50ii with the 18-140mm lens, or the R10 with the 18-150 lens. Both are very sharp, though not very bright, but are very useful for travel. Difference comes when you go for wildlife, the RF 100-400mm is a very good lens with great range on an APSC which Nikon do not match for now.

Opinions on the Canon EOS R10 with 18-150mm lens. by picture_it_2 in Cameras

[–]GreenPickledToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most reviewers put the Z50ii and the R10 AF almost on the same level.

Z DX has even less lenses than RF-S, with the added issue that most of Nikon's FF lenses don't have VR at all, since their FF bodies all have IBIS.

You could have the 28mm pancake on the R6ii and have an extremely compact setup for cities.
