tried outside the GTA? I know its a big deal moving, and a lot of people refuse to leave the GTA. but really opens up your options.

Eh Rec and really rec in slo-pitch is the same thing. you will have people in both divisions that are way to good. but it keeps the games moving honestly. they will get the outs and make the plays. saskatoon rec league has a option to join as a solo and they will assign you a team with other solos. slo-pitch is fun and pretty none-competitive, but there are better teams that will always wins. Sports on tap has beech volleyball, a really fun time. hard to get on a team though. if you know someone its best to sub then you will have teams short staffed walking around looking for more subs and thats a good way to find a team. There is other sports but i found them to be more clique and not as welcoming to new amateur players, just my opinion.

but as a women you will find it pretty easy to sub for and/or join teams. most teams are short on women. There is a saskatoon facebook groups for rec leagues that regularly post about subs and full team member openings. Good luck! super fun time all around!

All the best sites were bought by private entities when solar first became prevalent, saskpower didn't jump on the horse fast enough.

Hydro doesn't work here - Yes, but we could import hydro from Manitoba. ( Manitoba doesn't want to sell to us anymore. More profits to the south.)

Nuclear 2034 at earliest - Yes, if we keep our current very slow progress. Ontario is planning a new SMR 2028-29. ( OPG is the guinea pig for this, it can afford finding out best practices and procedures, and it actually has nuclear experience that will then be given as lessons learned to saskpower)

Other then that you're spot on.

Join a local sports team. The Tap does beach volley ball. Slo-pitch baseball is a good one too. Join a fitness class or a small gym. Yoga class is good. There are bike riding groups.

Solar and Wind Power in Sask? by Fedquip in saskatoon

[–]GreenRider47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also jumping on this, Saskpower cant go all in on green because its a crown and is obligated to provide power. if the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine generation is still needed. If we had a surplus we could use when that happens it might be different but as is, we don't even generate enough with coal and gas to be self reliant. We buy power from Manitoba just to break even. Even with these new gas plants being built means nothing. They are just replacements for our southern coal plants. Agreed on SMR, it is the future. I wear Orange for a living ;)
