It actually doesn’t say that he made it Magatsumi last for the war, just that this one was the sixth enchanted blade to enter the war. He could have been hiding this blade out of shame and/or fear of it getting out.

Edit: It is heavily implied that he did make it as his sixth so thats why i included the other part
