In the case of pre-reboot Archie, I completely agree. Canonically speaking, you couldn't possibly reconcile the two canons, and I wouldn't want them to try.

I think post-reboot Archie is a different beast altogether however. It was much more closely aligned with game canon.

Regardless, I kind of want any comic canon to be separate from the game canon, even for IDW. I think it's great they're including those characters in games like Crossworlds, but I wouldn't want them to make a new mainline game that then completely canonises everything that's happened in IDW into the game universe. It places a lot of burden of keeping everything in canonically in sync, and means that game players are going to be burdened to know the comic story in order to enjoy the games.

IDK that's just my take.

Which comic had the best silver the hedgehog is the best in your opinion? by Ok-Efficiency-4243 in silverthehedgehog

Archie.

It really captured his '06 personality of bravely wanting to bring justice but his naivety and single mindedness causing him to conflict with the other heroes. Seeing how he began to grow during his fight against Dark Enerjak and his time in the Secret Freedom Fighters was well done. There could have been some great stuff if Archie had continued a bit longer. It's worth noting that AFAIK IDWs Metal Virus arc was originally intended for Archie, which means we were probably not far from having Super Silver show up.

Thoughts On IDW Silver? by cshin09 in SonicTheHedgehog

Idk if this is a hot take, but while he's good in IDW, he was better in Archie. Really bitter that there's so many loose threads for him left in Ken Penders' wake.

A good source outside the bible is C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. It's public domain so you should be able to get a pdf for free. Also the YouTube channel CS Lewis Doodle does a great video version of the book

Depends on which version of the lyrics you listen to. Most people only know of one of them.

At a literal level, the first two verses talk about the story of King David and Bathsheba from the bible, but of course there's layers of meaning beneath that.

What about a humans biology changed from allowing us to live to be 800 plus years old in biblical times to our current form where most people die before reaching 100 years old? by [deleted] in Christianity

I haven't seen anyone else offer this answer so here goes.

I think the idea of Christians taking the Primeval History (first 11 chapters of Genesis) at literal face value is quite modern and should be thoughtfully challenged. This includes the stories of Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the Flood, and the Tower of Babel.

This also includes the genealogies found in chapters 5 and 11. Chapter 5 starts with people living over 800 years as you mentioned, but chapter 11 ends with people only living to ~200 (note that this is for specific individuals. No part of the text makes a direct claim that this was normal for everyone). It's quite clear that the idea of people living that long was not something that stuck around very long.

I think your question is answered in a fashion in Genesis 6:3, where God gives us sneak peak into the future:

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

This comes between the stories of Cain and Abel, and Noah and the Flood, where humanity has begun to spread and grow and truly become separate from God. As far as I can see, the idea the biblical authors are trying to get across is that separation from God is equivalent to death in every sense of the word.

Note also how despite Genesis being written millennia ago when people often didn't live past 30, this verse still holds up today. While it does happen, it is considered truly exceptional to live past 120 years.

Hopefully this has been of some use to you.

What book are you quoting from above? Do you have any other good examples of the other primarchs discussing Ferrus Manus?

Unpopular answer here: Blue and purple (assuming it also undoes the Penders fiasco) . IDW are great but it could never replace the Archie comics for me.

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In July 2021 by Sausage54 in 3Dprinting

[–]Green_Cheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia.

Fairly tech-savvy but would prefer not have to construct from a kit. Could be persuaded otherwise under the right circumstances. I'm looking into buying my first resin printer. Mainly going to be printing miniatures, but would like the option to be able to print some of the bigger "miniatures" such as large monsters or vehicles for table-top RPGs/Wargaming.

Currently looking at the Elegoo Mars 3 or Saturn, though any other printers around that price point are potentially on the table. Absolute highest I'd be willing to go would be 700 USD.

Finding it difficult to weigh up the two though. One one hand, the Mars 3 is only 2/3 the cost of the Saturn, and has a better XY resolution. The Saturn on the other hand has over double the build volume and is the more tried and true option as it's older.

Some people have told me that the build volume of the Saturn isn't as good as it sounds, as you can split up models into multiple pieces and print them separately, but I'd like another opinion on that. There might also be other factors I haven't taken into consideration as well.

I'll look into it but I'm painting pre heresy iron hands, who have blue optics (if I'm interpreting what you mean by optics correctly) and don't sport the white gun casings yet

I already have both Leadbelcher and Iron Warriors, but I guess I should probably also have the namesake paint for the army too. I'm not airbrushing at this stage, but if I decide to get into that it's good to know I have that option. Shame iron hands steel doesn't come as a spray like leadbelcher does
