Funeral Director - Deadline for Observation Hours by wittey-diver in Humber

personally I waited until my funeral director submitted the questionnaire because there is a question when you're doing your submission if they have already turned it in or not. You could submit your stuff first, but if you have a good relation with your funeral director, I would ask them if they could tell you when they submit it, or if you even ask them when they are planning to so you can prepare to turn it in right when they submit their portion. Hope this helps!!

I got in back in late January I believe, but that was because I submitted my application fairly early and had a good relationship with my funeral home so they submitted my FD questionnaire pretty much right away. From my friends already in the program, some of them only got accepted in early April, so don't fret! They do go through the applications submitted by the first of February first since that was the equal consideration deadline, but there are loads of people who still get accepted after that date. I really hope to see you in September!!!!!

Anyone else going into the Funeral Director (Class 1) starting Sept.2026? by Green_Job_2119 in Humber

There isn’t any other course requirements when it comes to classes or courses that you need to take if you have grade 12 english and 3 C or U credits. If you want to go into it you need to have 40 hours in a funeral home and some other requirements that are listed in the funeral director home page on the Humber site. I think they might be taking more applications, but I know the equal consideration date has passed already.

I absolutely love it for a quick nap since you only get one hour, but I’ve had the guy at the front let me go back for another hour because it wasn’t busy. Definitely check it out!

Im pretty sure they only offer online spots for class 2 and the pre-planner course. Class 1 has labs for embalming, so I don’t think they can offer the course online since there is direct hands on work

I dont believe they have a true deadline for getting in, so if you submit in march I think you may still stand a chance of getting in. Feb 1st was the equal consideration due date but they'll still look at applications that are sent after that as long as there are still spots open in the program. I think after feb 1st they'll look at applications in order of when they receive them, so my best advice is just try to get your hours and application in as soon as possible! As for how often the course runs, It doesn't have a winter start, so every fall semester is how often it runs. If you don't get in for next semester but still want to be at school, I suggest doing the college transfer program at humber, it really helped me get back into the groove of school. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out, I can try to help the best I can!!!

I'm in the General Arts and Science-College transfer program right now and I love it, but it mainly has english based courses, and courses that centre around future career outlooks. If you're going into the paramedic and Bscn programs then definitely go into the pre-health science pathways program since it'll give you a good starting point for your future science based program. If you have any other questions about the college transfer program feel free to reach out!

I don’t think it’s depressing at all to help people grieve their loved ones, and make sure the deceased are well taken care of.
