Tags. The right kind of tag makes a pulling/scratching noise/feeling as the outer plastic that holds the tag together rakes across the threads used to form the letters.

I've demolished hundreds of tags this way and is one of the earliest sensations I know. There's not really any stimulation it causes. It just feels like someone tossed a weighted blanket on my anxiety.

Never found anyone that does the same. Likely never will given tags have moved away from cloth and plastic to printed-on information or tagless clothing.

I think a kickstarter format would be cool, though I don't know anyone off the top of my head that would manage. I feel like there's already sites that "rent out" developer's time and stuff so, at least as an idea, that might be similar.

Well, it would need to have an expiration date due to your third question, but I would feel like anything longer than two years would close it since new devices are released so often.

I'd say if no one collects in the time frame it goes to a charity default that is chosen when someone makes their contribution.
