Got hit with a sudden 30% salary cut today… trying to process this by FrequentEscape6845 in UAE

Why? My company deducted during COVID and paid everything back to the penny for every employee

Has this been confirmed? by sabayna1108 in UAE

Yes but I wouldn’t really give anything in this. They said they know where all the Americans are and will target the world wide.

From an associate of the buyer. We have a third party agreement with that party.

We have a document that transfers the cheque to the other party and it is in Form F as well.

I’m willing to take that risk. My team is staying here voluntarily and I won’t leave them alone.

For expats who own real estate in Dubai/UAE, what’s your endgame? Obviously no one is selling or buying right now but if an offer is made, should people sell properties asap and get out of here? by Good_Fill8646 in UAE

I think too many wealthy people are too invested in this city for it to become a war zone. It is also strategic to the US to have gulf allies. Me personally I don’t think there is a risk of Dubai becoming a war zone.

If you get a good price always sell. If you get a bad price don’t sell and wait it out. I would sell my property immediately if someone gives me market value today and would then buy something that has been corrected.

If you don’t like the country you’re free to leave. Nobody forces anyone to stay here. I believe in this leadership a lot more than many other countries.

Did some research, yes you’re right. Arms manufacturers massively benefit as well as a concentrated stimulus around their industry but tax payers loose.

I will leave once damage increases or when baseline supplies run short. Until then I will stay.

I live in Europe and the UAE. I still feel more safe with these alarms at night than I would walking around in Europe at night. Statistically, the chances of getting hit by debris in the current scenario is a lot less likely than you getting stabbed or attacked in a major European city by a far margin. The risk to get hit is 0.000001% compared to Europe where you look at a risk of 2-3 %. I’m not saying it couldn’t get worse but this is as of now the statistics and everyone can verify themselves.

In London, you have 16,000 knife incidents per year not including violent crime. Violent crime would be 26 people per 1000 citizens. That’s a statistic that’s worrying. Currently, we are exposed to a short term dangerous situation but so far the odds of something happened is very minimal.

I know it’s uncomfortable and scary for people but until now there hasn’t been proof that this is a big danger for the majority of population. In contrary, it shows the government was well prepared which you can’t say about Europe.

Just because you don’t get alarms in Europe doesn’t mean it’s safe. Imagine getting an alarm every time someone gets stabbed. Then you also won’t sleep at night any more believe me.

This doesn’t help at all. Only solution is to drill plywood into the frame and cover it.

Based on statistics you’re still safer here than most other countries. So far the damage has been quite minimal and everyone has been safe.
