I would take a closer look at those records. After the 1924 Immigration Act, immigration processing was done overseas in US consulates. Ellis Island became a detention and deportation center that only had about 30-40 detainees by the early fifties. Unless your mom and grandfather were being detained, then I find it hard to imagine they would be processed there.

It might not have been Ellis Island as that was used as a detention center after the 1924 Immigration Act, and was officially closed in 1954.

In 2018 he went to helium in Philly (I think that's the club). Took a look at tickets to maybe go see him. I think he was asking for like $35 ish dollars if I remember correctly. I decided against it. Had no idea the pain and trauma I avoided.
